You talk'n bout putt'n a VG30DE or VG30DETT in your 240? Better find a good shop, that swap is no picnic. Clean finished ones, however, are beasts.

yeap, there is more people do LS1, and 2JZ. I think LS1 is well worth it, sometimes you can get them for pretty good price from the graduation corvette.

one engine
CA18DET
Iron block, holds boost MUCH better than the aluminum block sr20det, the only sr20 i'd suggest is the black top built right, the red tops are **** and blow up, blacktops are hard as hell to find with low miles also.. ca18det have a big aftermarket, you just have to order parts for a different car, whole engine/5 speed tranny is only 1400, my friend has one with a welded differential in commerce, 89 240sx with a ca18det, only thing he did was put a bigger turbo/different turbo manifold
ran 11.9 at atlanta dragway, no bull****, it;s crazy fast.

A VG30 swap would be impressive for 240SX. Though I must admit that I absolutely loath working on those engines, at least when they're in the cramped Z32.

If you're going to do a VG30 into your 240SX then, funds permitting, go all out and get the VG30DETT. The N/A will hardly be worth the trouble once you swap in the excess weight.

The swap is cheap, or the longblock is anyways...i've seen the VG30DETT with low mileage go for $2,500-3,000 complete but that doesn't make up for all the excess labor and maintenance and upgrade costs. Back in the mid to late 90's that engine in 510's and 240z's was both cool and impressive, in the last 15 years there's been plenty of other engines built and "discovered" that are far better for a swap.

Just go buy a J30 if you want that engine in something besides a Z32.

fixed:goodjob:With the exception he wouldn't ever recommend it.

Why not just build your own damn 3 rotor instead of trying to import one anyways? Downing has the shaft...
