you think the ls intercooler piping is different than the gsrs? i might get a kit but its for the 94-01 ls models.

the cold side piping is different because of the intake manifolds. also, some kits have bigger piping for the cold side on the gsr.

My name is CJ on IL.

Yea, I know he is your brother.

I have had 3 or 4 LS builds now, so I know the quirks.

I made ~300whp for about 28,000 miles (this was all you internals, but a stock 81mm bore). Went back and retuned for more and within 1000 miles I had cracked a sleeve. Rebuilt, cracked another sleeve at about 355whp...sooo...do with it what you will.

hmm thats pretty crazy man
i talked to jenson and he said he thought that the injectors and the head will be the limiting factors.
but thats sucks i've never heard of people cracking ls sleeves like that.

Man cj, I had no idea u were that low on power. I really thought u were at 500... What did u rev to? Block girdle? Boost? I dont understand 300 whp cracking sleeves. Heck jeffery had a 300 shot on his Ls at one point. The sleeves r the same as the gsr block which will easily hold 300. I did advise him on a girdle and main studs. Sam delete those pics asap of the parts.

Anything more then 270 on that motor, You will crack a sleeve. Anyone can go boost now days but that hard part is sleeving and not alot of people have money to sleeve. If you sleeve that **** you'll be straight. Or Atleast throw in the block gaurd its only $100

LS2ner
02-27-2008, 11:09 PM
done you have to get the block guard pressed in? I think as long as you keep the revs down a little and moderate boost it should be ok.

not going to do a block guard i was told it just causes more heat in the head. and i can go pass 270. i don't know who told you that but its definitely not true. LS sleeves aren't that weak.

like a huge crap
so no im taking the tranny and old motor and and putting in everything for boost
here is where it sits as of now
