Ok, some people are complaining on what you have to do to be able to post in the Flea Market Section.
So I just checked and the requirements are...
1. Member for 365 Days ( One year)
2. Minimum 200 Posts
3. So many required rep points.
Or obviously you can donate 10 bucks.

Honestly this has gotten ridiculous in both aspects. Yes, we have a problem with spammers not being a member and just posting their junk.

However, the requirements have gotten kinda ridiculous. A member for a year? Are you kidding me? When I joined up first a few years back I practically lived in the forsale section, reading, looking at cars occasionaly buying stuff and selling stuff and there was no year long membership requirement. I can see say two months or something but a year?

We get alot of new members obviously, some are complete idiots, some are not. But new guys post their junk all the time and it gets closed not because its not posted right. Because they have not been a member for a year.
For example. A recent for sale thread about an HID kit. Poorly written thread but did not break rules about links. Had a picture and price and location. Not hating on Nitro here but quite cheap and didnt just post them and dissapear, he did his job and yet it still got closed.

This really needs to be re discussed and re done in some way. I definately would make some requirements to keep spam and the ones that just post and leave away but regular members, even new guys should be allowed to post up.

Discuss. Comments.

Oh and PS. Not trying to start a battle or anything like that. Just feeling some sympathy for new guys and ridiculous rules. Much like the bill of "18 to party, 21 to drink" that is now 21 to party. I think its the same junk.

i really don't care.. i don't have to worry about it.. lol but i think this year rule is to insure the integrity of the seller.. a year is a long time though..

I don't think any of those things are harsh at all.

If you are coming on here just to sell something you can find another site.

All of those requirements will most likely show that someone is going to be a legit seller. You really think someone is going to be here a year and meet all the requirements just so they can **** someone over? I doubt it.

This does the following:

1) Keeps people out that only use IA for selling aka THIEVES

2) Keeps people from posting multiple for sale threads when they arent a sponsor. (How many times have you seen 10 CAR FOR SALE ads from 1 use?)

3) Make people participate in the board, makes them active, and hopefully makes you RECOGNIZE their screename. Imagine if everyone you do business with on this board you KNOW or have heard of? People are less likely to get scammed that way.

4) Allows us to keep NOOBs who dont follow the format or the rules out of the for sale forum. Hopefully after a year of use an 200 mosts you know the proper format to use.

5) The For sale forum is a PRIVLEDGE, NOT A RIGHT. If you want to use it, you abide by the rules and guidelines, if you dont like it, go to Craigslist.

Every single forum i've been on for nearly 5 years I joined because of their FOR SALE forum...to buy parts, not to sell. "New guys" can post all they want, just not hustling parts here. Use craiglist, eBay, or another forum and do it there.

I completely understand how to keep huge 10 car posts from new people that do not contribute. I also understand it keeps scammers out. But what about the good people? The only way I know to not have the requirments is contribute. Ten dollars is not much, its about the same as an ebay ad and hell autotrader is like 70 now.
But could there be another way to let someone in if they are a personal friend and a member vouches for them? Maybe that would help out.

And, yes it is nice to recognize the username and know the person. However, I dont know too many people on here by face to face. But I have made buys and sells and I do not have a bad name here atleast what I know. Most of my posts are sometimes not the most tuner related but thats what a forum is all about right?

I dunno. It was kind of a random rant. With all the rules they are taking away from us today, I just saw it happening in this forum and think its slightly harsh. But I guess it will stay the same.

On very FEW occasions on a CASE BY CASE basis Julio might allow someone to sell, but i doubt it.

just have them pay the $10

I like the new rules i dont think they are bad at all. the only complaint I have is some people that has a business and pay the 10$ to get out of paying the $$$ money to be a board sponsor. There is a new member that payed the 10$ and has posted 10+ salvage/rebuilt cars in less that a month! even if he payes 10$ a month that is still not very fair to the sponsors who put up the big money!

Too true. You have Ron's Auto Sales that pays sponsorship money to sell multiple cars on here and then you have a few members that seem to sell more cars than Ron's does for free. Not fair for Ron to have to pay all that money if he doesn't have to. Later, QD.

It sucks because a lot of times noobs, or people that shouldnt be selling things have good stuff. I almost picked up a valentine one for $100, I got some JL a while back for crackhead prices, and someone who shouldnt have been posting there almost bought my car.

$10 per ad or just $10 to sell anything?

I guess I should retract until I would know. If they pay $10/ad, then my complaint would be withdrawn. I'm hoping it's $10/ad and not for everything as it would seem more sensible. But I don't know if they pay anything or not. Later, QD.

*If you do not meet any of those , you can pay a one time fee of $10.00 (non- refundable) in order to use the FLEA MARKET section without any restriction.
With this Fee you are only allowed to sale small items and Not bulks. This is only for regular members and not VENDORS. If you we suspect you selling
Bulk like items, You will be banned and the $10.00 Will not be refunded.

but is this enforced? once they pay the 10$

The bottom line is why complain about it? The ones complaining are the ones we're trying to keep away. IA doesn't want you if you're only here to use it. If you don't like the rules, leave. Go to another forum. Go to craigslist. Go to ajc.com. The rules are great. Just need to be enforced for everyone. Later, QD.
