Anyone on here using regular gas in their car? Well i WAS. Now i realize the shit SUCKS!!!! I drive an 83 El Camino with a very slightly modded 350 in it. Always put regular in it. Now i havent had my license back too long and noticed that the valves were rattling like hell on the mutha. This isnt to uncommon on the 350 but the shit was too damn loud. So this morning i went ahead and threw some premium in that bitch. And damn oooooooooooooh what a world of a difference. She purrss like a kitten. Havent heard a valve yet. And maybe its in my head but it feels as if its got a little more power too :) Eh oh well, regular gas SUCKS ASS!!!!! But gas prices sure are high :(

Depends on what your engine was designed for.....

All 3 of our cars are made for 87 octane, so we never have any problems with it. Now you use it in a car that needs a higher grade Octane, then yeah it will cause some issues

^^ Not always, Like on my civic, Its not designed for it, so I am wasting my money on a 93 cause its not designed to fire any faster on a 93, Wouldnt change shit on mine

Well... ok, stock my car could run, and even with a few bolt ons it still can without much problem. but now, after the supercharger/tune, 93 is all I can put in my car... It's never even tasted 87.. or 89 for that matter since I've owned. Heard too much shit, about people putting cheap stuff in it just once, then going back to premium, and it pings like crazy.

I pass it every day on the way home from work. You can't help but stop and put in a gallon or two.

IF I am not mistaken cars with higher than 9.8:1 compression must run on 91 or higher. As well as Forced air induced engines. Mine barely idles on 93, and 100 and up make her mean!

Stupid high compression V6. Requires 93... P.O.S.....

GA has one of the cheapest gas prices in the country because they don't let semi trucks fill up their tanks completely, they only let them have enough to get through the state of Georgia. Among other reasons, but that's one reason I know that our gas prices are cheaper than other states.

This has been your official Similar Thoughts informative broadcast. Remember kids, knowing is half the battle. :goodjob:

Is that why? I thought it was maybe because cost of living was cheaper here than up north and out west.

Dragonfly5338

I'm sure there are other reasons, but that's one of the big ones. :)

Cool, I didn't know that about semi-trucks though Val.

PS I have yet to see your new ride. Perhaps one day. :)

Dragonfly5338
03-16-2005, 08:30 PM
Yeah, semis can take 100s of gallons of gas when they fill up.

And yeah, definitely! I want to go to the track soon, but I can't really until I have enough money to buy a clutch. My stock one won't last very long on hard launches. But I'll break into the 12s, prolly be mid 12s by next few weeks. :) I'm shooting to break 350whp soon. :goodjob:

Damn girl, you on a roll then huh. I'm pretty much broke. Maybe I'll see you at commerce then. :)

Dragonfly5338

Definitely :) You going to Commerce soon? Lemme know when you do, we'll go up!

Red
03-16-2005, 08:36 PM
Cool, I'm gonna start going up and atleast watching. It just sucks b/c I have to have someone follow me if I wanna bring my other tires, so if I do run it's on street tires. Not that I really care. Okay I'm making excuses. I'm just too cheap to pay for C16. LOL

Dragonfly5338
03-16-2005, 08:46 PM
LOL!!! I hear that. c16 is eeeexpeeennssiive! And it doesn't last long either. :p
