preciate it. But yeah the site is great overall. I would get rid of read receipts because they are so damn annoying, and everyone always requests them because they hit enter when prompted.

I find them to be very useful. May be we should group them under On-Topic section.

Pictures and Photoshop should be under Digital Photography forum. Seems like there are great interested in photography stuffs. Why not create a section and put the non-car related pics and shops in there?

I think making it compact and subforums would be a lot nicer and easier to navigate.

RDL, if still needed on IA, should be under the password protected room. Users need age verification by Administrative staffs before enter. That should keep the site safe from lawsuits and such.

Post with NWS pics should be strictly enforced as "Spoiler" with info. That way, it will not loaded unless the users click the "show" button.

dude you ARE THE MAN... i agree 110% with almost everything you posted. Those are my main concerns right now.

1) I say we put the forums back how they were, they were literally PERFECT... like religion forum was there... news/politics forum was there (awesome reads/debates in there)... Back then I could actually sell something by making 1 thread haha... I had to post my 950cc injectors in mitsubishi, honda, and general subforums. Honda forum usually has the most viewers and with that said that was the only thread which got replies... The others didn't. Now what if someone with a dsm needed injectors, if I only posted it in honda forums, he would never check to see them in there.

But i requested this a LONGGGG time ago, jsut doesn't seems like it works too well IMO...

Say you had a car for sale.... I used my corolla as an example. the 79 corolla. People looking for that kind of car aren't automatically like "damn i'm in the mood of buying a 1979 corolla today"... They might be looking for a datsun 510, 3tc corolla, or whatever... just an old school rwd project right? If i were to post it in toyota some people would never click in to see it. I mean even when I bought my car, I wasn't like "damn i'm gonna buy a toyota today" Sure it'll increase your click count as a site if you had it broken down, but daym its very inefficient.

I rarely even look in parts for sale anymore, its a mess.



What else i'd add? Yall should have tshirt designing thread contests and fukk cafe press.... I know a decent silk screen place on jimmy carter that does 'em WAAAAAY higher quality and a little cheaper... Just sell 'em on the main page using an ecommerce program (i got one if yall need)... Bring more clicks to the site that way too... more ppl viewing the main page as well. And some extra income bc most people dont even know about the cafepress site... it took me a while to even find it.

Let the pictures and photoshop section mods select the best of the month (the best writeup/coverage on a worthy car) --- and send it to the admin.. .and the admin can just copy/paste it over to you. (( will work excellent, bc will give exposure to new and upcoming cars/photographers-- assuming they're good at what they do if they can prove it to the panel deciding.)) --- This also will bring more posts/views/clicks to that specific forum (eye candy brings new visitors too)

Wow. Okay its really cool that you guys are even considering taking our opinions into considerataion. I have a few points Id like to bring up...

Point 1: I dont feel Im alone in this, but you really need to evaluate your moderating staff. Now Im sure there are a quite a few mods on here that are close friends, etc, but here lies the problem. Im not pointing out anybody in particular, but there are some moderators that either A: Arent doing their jobs, B: Showing serious favoritism in how they choose to moderate, C: Pick and choose what rules they want to enforce. No I dont have a written list of when these things have happened, but it does happen. Dont get me wrong, there are some good moderators, Ruiner/shagwagon/Atif/etc, but these guys have their heads on straight, and have no personal affiliation to site sponsors that can affect their judgements on how they moderate. And if the members have rules that they need to follow, then the moderating staff needs to follow them as well. For example, if we have sig rules then the moderators dont need to have "stacked" sigs of images either.

Point 2: The Red Light District: Hell Im all about ass and titties sometimes, but this is an automotive forum, not a porn site. If people complain about it, then they obviously are idiots that dont know where to obtain it anywhere else, or they are lazy. If your argument is that it brings more traffic? Personally if I owned the site, Id rather be well known for having a site that brought traffic because of the quality of its members and overall forum. There are some REALLY successful forums that bring in 10's of thousands of users a day that do not have Porn Forums.


Point 3: The Whoreslounge. Change the name to Off-Topic. Remove the "call-outs" connatation that it carries. This forum is great, but like many would agree, there are a lot of things that go on in here that just sholdnt be in an "automotive" centered forum. I think there should be a list of clean cut rules stickied up top to cover what should not be posted in here. When people have perceived free reign over a forum section, then they feel like they can post anything they want. But that gives the moderators of the section more **** to handle, and it causes people to get pissed off more when they dont realize why their threads were deleted.

Point 4: Rules for Moderators. Just because you are a moderator of a web forum doesnt mean you are a God amongts men. Moderators need a set of rules and they need to follow them, and it should be the job of admins to make sure they are following them. If they arent then find someone that can fit the bill for the job. Here are some examples:

-Enforce the rules stated in the stickied rules thread in the main forum. If there are special occasions where the rule isnt documented then ammend it and place it in there for future occurance.
-If a thread is deleted, PM the user why. Im sure some will probably think, why? Im the moderator I do what I want. Yeah, that may be the case now, but you also need to think Im sure there was a time someone had deleted or moved your thread and you probably just werent sure why. Be an adult and give them some courtesy, and maybe there wouldnt be so many I hate you QD/FS mod thread threads.
-Im not sure how you all run the moderator forums (the hidden section), but if you guys dont have something in place already, maybe have the set of guidelines in that section. Have someone like Ruiner or another Senior Moderator keep an eye on the moderators that arent performing their duties. They arent being paid to moderate on here, but it still is a priveldge to do so since this is a free site for them, and along with that comes responsibility. Something that I think that a lot of the staff on here lack in, that and maturity. You cant deny that some of the most highly traffic'ed sites have a great staff of mods/admins.


Point 4:
Remove the profanity filter. We're all adults here, or we should be at least. Profanity is everywhere, explicit or not. And if I recall correctly even one of our "OG" moderators has an avatar that says "I say **** **** **** a lot".



So Ive mentioned a few things that some might disagree with and thats fine. Julio mentioned yesterday that I hate IA. That isnt the case, I wouldnt have wasted my time typing this if it was. There is also nothing wrong with the admin team. You , Julio, and Brett are awesome. But your minions leave a little to be desired. Im sure there will be some pissed off at changes along the way, but you cant please everyone, and it is YOUR site to do what you want with it. Hell Im sure there will be a few mad at me at making a post like this, what's new huh? But I can say I havent been on IA since 2000, but I have been around "the scene" since then and have seen the same changes you all have. However, in that time before I joined IA, I heard of the site and even still to this day I know of many awesome people that dont come on here because the site is handled in the way that it is. A more professional and mature IA will bring out the better site sponsors. Even though it might lose a few people along the way, they probably werent significant in any shape or fashion either to the advancement to this website.

I agree with Nemesis and Bigdare, you really need to reconsider who you made moderators. Some of them abuse their power a little too much. Other than that, here are some suggestions:
-Add an events script or something that takes the thread titles from the events forum and puts it on the events page on the main site.
-You could do the same with news. Have a locked news forum that you could move important or urgent threads to, which will then be shown on the main page of the site.
-You could get more members if you got rid of the under 18 policy. You could block the material in the RLD by password, and only give the password to people who have been posting for a longer time and are over 18.
-Whoreslounge -> Off-topic. George is right about its current use - everyone posts callouts and other insulting posts practically every ten minutes.
-Put out more of those Importatlanta.com stickers. Its basically free advertising - people with those stickers go to tons of events in Georgia, and every time someone sees the sticker, that may be a new member.
-Move all threads for non-nude women and all into the RLD from the Pictures & Photoshops board. It would clean up the board a little more and keep people from coming here just for those pics.
-We could have a hidden board for members where we can post links to CDs, vids, movies and all that we have found around the net.
-You could add a few more boards suited more for people who aren't necessarily car enthusiasts. This could bring in more members from different backgrounds.

I agree with everything George said except for number 3. Especially on the RLD. There is no need for that on here. If someone wants to look at porn, maybe they should go to a porn site. You're kind of defeating the purpose of the cussword filter by having a straight porn section. We can't fluck you or eat sheet and die, but we can turn around and watch Cav-E-R Does IA in it's entirety. The cussword filter was implemented to make the site a little more refreshing for potential sponsors. I would think the sponsors would rather see the cussing than the uncensored porn films and pics.

But the WL should stay and pretty much as it is. Not only do all automotive based forums have an "off-topic" section, we all need a place (section) to post that doesn't have to do with cars.

Another thing is to get rid of all the idiots that have nothing but FS posts on here. I know personally that Julio does not like the people that sign up to use IA to make money. IA should be more vigilant about these people. There are so many people on here that have 400-500 post and everyone of them are in the FS section. Ban them. The mother****ers using IA to sell cars? Ban them, too. You've got shops like Ron's Auto that pay to sell cars on here and it's not fair for people like Heerazor and savanna to be able to do it for free.

Marketing Marketing Marketing, I'd try to make a variety of marketable **** to sell bearing the sites name. Maybe add some other sections on the site, with product reviews, parts cars, and just a variety of other informative **** to read aside from relying on just the users to provide feed back about products.

I've always wanted to work for a car magazine, or some sort of publication where I could try to provide an object view point on different stuff; new cars, used cars, products ect... but as we all know my website, went down last year, because I didn't have the time to learn to how to do html. When I'm in the right mind set I'm a killer writer, decent videographer, and now a pretty decent photographer, but I've yet to really find my niche in the "market".

Anyway the layout you guys have now is pretty good, and about as functional as it gets, I'd just like to see it keep it's functionality with a little more eye candy.

Pitch ideas to different local car dealerships to throw their advertisements on, try an attend multiple car events even though some might be gaytarded (lame word but w/e), I'd do car features of more known members on the site, hold a site sponsored track event (with help from those dealership sponsors), start my own farking official car show solely for Atlanta, let that shiot grow into something that will blow Nopi out of the water, of course hold the major car meets at tracks such as Road Atlanta and Atl Speedway to stay local!

Then I'd hire this black dude named Jamal to be my pimp tyte marketing/advertising manager so we can both make bank. Then I'd start to get rappers cars featured that we always see around atl. Start making my own spin-off of DUB magazine in this bish for the local lux car owners and shiz. Start advertising clubs shizz on the site.....

couldnt agree more on the for sale forums. i hardly if ever go in there anymore. that used to be at least once a day stop for me at least. now i only look when i need something. they need to go back to the old and have a section to click the brand or something to make searches more efficient instead of narrowing each down. :goodjob: :2cents:

You could always change the name of the forum from import atlanta to something else that just deals with "atlanta" since most of the topics arent just car related. You can make import atlanta a branch to a larger Atlanta forum kinda like how the killforum is.

So the overall forum would be call Atlanta {something} or {something} Atlanta and that would include
-The Main Section (for randomness, whoreslounge, RLD, other stuff dealing with Atlanta, and such)
-Importatlanta (strictly for cars--pics, info, f/s,.... )
-Killforums (strictly for racing)

Basically, make a bigger forum and add the forums you already have to that one.

i dont see changing the name, its called import atlanta cause its suppose to be about imports. changing it to something bigger and more wide spread would just cause more BS than there already is. you would get people joining to go talk in one part of the forum then go start **** in another. i think it should be primary imports and related stuff. im sure there is another atlanta something forum somewhere people can find for there other topics. and the porn thing is lame, i said it along time ago, goto dump.com and thats all you need. its the google video search of porn. dont need it here. also think the home page needs to be updated more. reps are pretty point, need to change the for sale threads alittle to where it can be marked as sold/and locked when its sold. and the feedback thing would be nice

I agree that we have to many moderators and hell I'm a moderator. However I feel that I should be, I'm on here all the time and have no favoritism. Hell I've locked and deleted many threads that my roommates have started.
