Sorry for the wait I've been pretty busy. I was able to get most of the cars that showed up but some left right when I was getting setup. The meet was a good turnout, minus the people who left their trash in the parking lot and Mustang boy.

It's got just over 150k miles on it. I keep it as clean as I can tough. Also just took the running boards off. :goodjob: They made a ton I'm sure mine is a 2000.

Those pictures turned out pretty damn cool. I thought there was a bit too much light but whatever setting you put on that camera made everything look badass.

Now I just gotta get new tires on my Konigs, get my JDM bumpers, a decent suspension, and a new paint job. Then maybe my AE86 wont look so much like a tired old drift car. I'm certainly not going to be winning any beauty contests like the S2K, RX8, and the S14 with the kouki front end though.

I don't think that was a shot against you Maniac. Perhaps it was worded a bit out of line but can you honestly say you haven't thought the same things about some of the IA members you've met? I'm not saying you in particular. I don't know you so I have no reason to quarrel with you so please don't think I'm trying to instigate something. I'm strictly stating an opinion. Truth be told I've seen some younger kids show up at the Varsity and other meets with $15,000 cars, body kits, and countless other accessories and can't help but wonder where their money comes from.

When it comes down to it, some of us are broke. Do we still love our cars? Yes. Isn't that enough? Why should I be criticized because my AE86 is stock? I still love driving it and I have tons of fun wherever I go. I'd rather have my car run reliably than slap a primer-gray body kit on it and have it barely start when I turn the key. Again, this is not a direct shot against you Maniac so please don't consider it as such. I've never seen what you drive. Odds are it is a badass car like many of the others on this forum, but I'm simply citing the same criticisms I've heard over and over when I present my stock car to others.

I am proud of the work I have put in to get my 20 year old car running like a champ so why should I be criticized for wanting to exhibit the fruits of my labor? I've read many times of guys buying AE86's and running for the hills at the first sign of trouble. After all the work I've put into it, now when I go to meets my car attracts attention. Some good. Some bad. But I've been able to tell my story of me and my car to others. In exchange, I get to hear lots of good stories from others who have experienced similar troubles. When it comes down to it we all share the same enthusiasm but we express it in different ways. Some do so through aesthetics and others choose to do so through raw performance.

What I'm trying to get down to is that even though our meet was "just a bunch of stock looking cars", it doesn't mean we have any less passion for our cars than anyone else. It simply means we have other obligations to attend to that take precedence to our cars. Or, as in my case, we're just broke.
