With your history, I can't see the justification of you having a gun period. Let alone an AR. Not a diss. Just an observation. I sense a workplace or school shooting here in the near future. Not kidding. Later, QD.

Depends on what kind of AR-15. For $700 I'm assuming it was a Bushmaster. I'm not a fan of them at all and wouldn't get one if someone offered it for $200. But I've been spoiled by a friends father who has about 6 different AR-15s. All made by colt and all have been nothing but tanks.

Now if it is a Pre-ban Colt AR-15 you got an incredible deal. I've seen Pre-ban Colt's go for $3,000 becuase on those years you could convert them to fully auto fairly easy. Even though the assault weapons ban is over the newer Colts got rid of that deal and now you can't.

^ What he said more or less.
Also depends on the abuse on it and everything. Lets see some pics. I can get an Bushmaster AR for like 300 used. Yes its legit, just hard to find. I would not say you got screwed but your friend probably broke even by selling it you.

Hahah, thats what I was thinkin.

You and TI both feel the need to have guns you have no use for.

Did you read what you wrote? Grenade launcher?

This is real life. Not a video game.

Just wondering, but what is the differences between say a Bushmaster & Colt, etc. Are the Bushmasters really that bad?

You ever heard of Columbine? Conyers? Red Lake? Virginia Tech? Cleveland? These are among the more famous recent school shootings? The posts this s13 dude have made in recent months remind me of what I've read about the "attackers" in each incident. Later, QD.

its nothing spectacular its just an IGL ... they're on a lot of the ar15s... bolt right on from the mil issue m16s... they are completely legal to own... the catch? You can't own grenade rounds for them LOL and i doubt he'd ever be able to find some for sale... those are destructive devices.

you can convert any gun to full auto fairly easy.. all you need is a 10$ grinder from harbor freight... but for that hour of work you just broke a federal law and face a minimum of 10 years of ass raping time. ;)
creating a machinegun/ destructive device w/o class 3 FFL for manufacturing firearms or something like that....

and lolol what exactly do you say is wrong with bushmasters?

You can get smoke and flare rounds legally, though.

It's my understanding that you can own grenades, however since they are considered DD, there is a $200 tax on each one plus whatever they cost if you can find someone to sell them to you.

I heard something like that too, but even so I heard its hard if not impossible to get them to legal way, mind you thats with the class III license of course for machine guns (full auto) and destructive devices (takes forever to get and if ur not squeaky clean, you wont get it...)

True, but at least that are still some other cool things you can put in a grenade launcher.

as an army man i love the ar15(m16, etc etc). thrown a few rounds downrange with the m203 setup(m16 with grenade launcher attachment). not a bad deal as long as it was treated well, cleaned and all that good stuff

Exactly what I was thinking.

School shootings that have taken place are involved with guns like this. I also don't think he is supposed to legally have an AR15. That idiot kid in Penn. had all those guns ready to shoot up his school with.

And to brag about the grenade launcher is just supporting the idea that he is going to do something stupid.

If you are going to have a weapon capable of that, make good user of it and go kill some terrorists in the Middle East.

Wow this thread is funny. From some of the posts in this thread and others on this board I am surprised nobody has shot hemselves yet.

What make is the AR? 16, 18 or 20 inch barrell? Is it a flat top receiver? Stock type? Barrell type? 2 stage trigger? It is hard to say if you got a good deal or not. $700.00 isn't a bad price unless it's an Olympic Arms plinker. Be prepared to pay out the ass for ammo. Wal Mart is the cheapest right now at $6.47/20.

Even 7.62 ammo is getting expensive, even surplus. The best thing going is 5.45. A WASR 2 is $300 and 1100 rounds is $150. I have a small fortune in 5.56 now with the prices. Wish I had bought a few cases back when it was $139 for 1,000.

You can still convert the newer AR-15s. Just not as easy. With the Pre-bans all you needed was a T-pin that you had to custom make. It takes about 1second to drop in and 3 seconds to take off. Unlike grinding you can keep your gun legal except when you don't want it to be.

As for Bushmasters. When I worked at a machine shop we always had people bring guns in that needed custom work done(Lot's of customers from Bullseye). We always got Bushmasters in. I didn't bother with them much but lot's of clips wouldn't fit right, pins and crap would break. Just not as well made as a Colt nor as accurate. But also not as expensive.

Honestly if you want a gun that has a high round capacity but is fun to shoot. The Ruger Mini-14 is great. It shoots a .223 round that is cheap. They look cool and are fairly cheap. Also fairly accurate for what they are. We had one that we must have put a zillion rounds through. Eventually it shot sideways but we didn't get it for accuracy We got it to load up 50round clips and to just go to town.

We do have a Ruger 77/22(I think that's it) that shoots a 17hmr round. That thing is a nail driver.

Here is my buddy and I shooting some rounds off with our pistols...
