He has a blown H23, has a H22A1? Its japaneses, not the A4 american version. Does it have any advantages compared to the American h22? Anyways, its sitting in his garage. We are wondering what are the necessities for the swap. I know h23 trannies bolt up, and you can use h23 ecu, but it wont engage vtec. Anything else we need to know? He will get the ECU when he gets the rest of the cash.

motor will bolt right in. and i think h22a1 was in the american 92-95 preludes, but i might be wrong. You will have to use the h23 fuel rail, and some other little things, but its a fairly easy swap.

I got a ecu for him... a euro r redtop P13. it has a little more aggressive timing than regular P13s. I'll let it go for 150. emino why did you suggest that he needs the h23 rail and not the h22 one?

h22a1 is indeed a usdm obdI engine. only difference between the a4 and the a1 is that the a1 is cloded deck and a4 is open deck. honda rated the a4 with a little power but they are basically the same and both dyno about the same.

well I take the rail thing back. I was thinking of the jdm h there fuel lines go to a different part of the rail than the usdm one...so scratch that since its an a1 ...
