picked up a cooling fan from a buddy of mine and its for a civic... i want to put it on my MR2 under the engine cover. I'll prob just hook it up to a switch and i need to know which one the 2 wires is the hot wire and which is Ground. Obviously im guessing the black is ground but i was told it could be anything and if u hook it up wrong it will definatly short out....

black is ground. with after market fans, you can hook it up either way to make it a pusher or puller. but for a honda fan black is ground.

its not going to short out, it would just reverse the direction...getting it to fit will be the fun part though...s.p.a.l. FTW

yeah i was up at AAP today and looked to see where it would mount to.... lol its not going to. THe stock engine cover has a small hole to vent on the back of it but Its pretty small and nowhere to mount the fan

Hook it up for what you need it to do, like vuong said, one way it will be pusher one it will pull. It wont short out.
