why? it was obvious joey wasn't getting the ****ing job done. now they are going to try something new and realize its alot more than just the QB situation thats needs to be in atlanta. Out of Joey Harrington, Chris Redman, and Byron Leftwich. I would take byron 9 times out of 10, because he gives you the better chance to win, he is more mobile in the pocket, if healthy can scramble to pick up extra yards, and had a stronger arm to go down the field than the other two. And the falcons didn't pay 7 mil over the next two seasons for him to seat on the bench, when they are already tight for money as it is.

I thought so too but, after seeing him in Monday night's game (I actually went to the game) I'm not too sure. The one play that sticks out in my mind is when he attempted the Hail Mary pass at the end of the first half. The fact that the ball didn't make it to the end zone made me really question his arm strength. I honestly hoped he would play better as the season progressed but it just doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Before we continue to bash the offensive line over and over again, realize who was the nucleus of the team.

Michael Vick.

The Atlanta Falcons -built- that teams around him. So naturally, if you remove the center of the team, everyone else suffers. Over the past several years, Mora has been signing and drafting smaller, yet quicker and more agile offensive linemen to proctect Vick on the run because 6 out of 10 times, Mike was going to run the damn thing anyway, so the Falcons got lineman who could at least block on the run. Hence the 1000 yards rushing and passing the previous year.

So now, you remove Vick and put in Joey Harrington, who isn't -that- bad of a QB but he sure as hell isn't -that- good. Medicore at best and slide him into the same scheme of things. And of course, he's going to suck because the team isn't -built- around him, it's built around a guy who's much more mobile in the pocket and able to make plays with his feet if not his arm. Not to mention, that Joey will take a damn sack instead of throwing it away anyway, so it's not like the Falcons didn't know what they were getting themselves into.

I'm not trying to take away -all- the blame from the O-Line, granted they need to protect anybody who's back there, but it's not all thier fault. But just about every post in this thread has bashed them constantly. The QB is flaky, Dunn is a old and tired but yet they won't give Norwood the ball, the WR are getting better because Joey has a better touch but then again, they weren't all that great to begin with. The OL isn't designed for a pocket passer, so of course sacks are going to happen.

The Atlanta Falcons are a cluster**** all the way around thanks to one guy. So expect them to suck big time for the next 2-3 years because they are literally having to build from the ground up all over again.

But that's just my two cents.

Sunday's game actually said that with a better QB, the Falcons have potential to be a better team. We led with Byron, Joey came in took a few sacks and lost momentum of the game. Byron has a better arm and better eye than Joey. It was unfortunate he got injured, as I expected he would be sometime this season...
