wow...I live just down the road from where this happened...I was just behind this guy yesterday on my way to work...he stood out because of the tails and the rev at me as he went by as I pulled out behind him on Johnson...he was driving eratic while I was behind him...sad to see somebody lost a life because of this idiot...

What's sad is that for $22, half a tank of gas, and some time away from home......I got to run my car until I was tired of running my car AT THE TRACK yesterday. Everybody always complains that the track is soooo far away and it costs too much money and they don't get enough "runs" in and :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: , yet if you take a little initiative there are plenty of alternatives around. Racing down L'ville Hwy is moronic.

I grew up in L'ville. It's my old stomping ground. My wife's uncle probably worked that accident. He's a fireman based right there off Patterson and 5 forks, so I'm certain he was there. L'ville is full of wannabe fart can 1982 wheeled cars that rev at anyone they think will take the bait. I drive thru L'ville constantly. It happens to me damn near everytime. Even my wife has seen it happen where we're talking and minding our own business going somewhere and some wannabe revs at me for no reason. It could be bumper to bumper traffic and these idiots do it everytime.

I was thinking that too. Because 1 the car isn't powerful enough to break the tires loose at 60mph. And the turn not sharp enough for an average car to loose control unless they were running say 120mph(Which I highly doubt).

I was also thinking that maybe it was a close race and the driver looked at the other driver and ran off the road and overcorrected.

But from what else I have seen I think the driver who was killed(honda civic) was innocent while the racing teen lived. Haven't seen any word on what other car was racing...

A 15-year-old Norcross teen has been charged in a fatal wreck that left a motorist dead and four others injured, authorities said Monday.

Gwinnett police said the teen was the driver of a Toyota Celica that veered into the northbound lanes on Lawrenceville Highway near Huston Drive and Murphy Avenue about 6 p.m. Sunday, colliding head-on with a northbound 1990 Honda Civic, Cpl. Illana Spellman, a department spokeswoman, said in a statement. The impact also forced the 15-year-old's 2002 Celica into a Chevrolet Suburban, which also was traveling north.

Based on witness reports, the teen may have been racing with another vehicle in the southbound lanes when he apparently lost control of his Celica, Spellman said.

Police have charged him with operating without a valid license, failure to maintain a lane and second-degree vehicular homicide, Spellman said. The teen has been released to his mother's custody and is awaiting a court hearing date.

Authorities declined to identify of the 20-year-old Civic driver from Lawrenceville, who died as a result of his injuries. The Suburban driver was not hurt, but two passengers in the Civic received minor injuries.

The 15-year-old driver was treated at a local hospital and released. A 12-year-old passenger in his car was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, and a 15-year-old also riding in the car was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. Both are expected to recover.

Alcohol doesn't appear to have played a role in the wreck, Spellman said.
