Alright so this weekend im going to lay it down and get either of the two things and I need some help from the mature and well mannered Whoreslounge.

My choices are:

HD DVD Player (Sorry no blue ray for me)

or

Ipod Touch

Now, I love watching movies on my Plasma, and I also like listening to music.

I'd go ahead with the HD-DVD player. The prices are down to really good level now and plus Best Buy is running a special with buy an HD-DVD player and recieve 9 HD-DVDs for free. Toshiba is leading the market right now in these players and they can be had for as low as $300 now. Later, QD.

plus you already have an ipod, why do you need an itouch?

One of the other reasons Im leaning towards that. Ive got a 360 Premium that gets use only every so often.

Hit up Best Buy before the weekend is out, George. Like I said, they are running a hail of a special on HD-DVD players. Later, QD.

That's right. Only problem is that it won't provide the same upstanding qualities as a stand alone unit would. Later, QD.

Lol, well I have never been into the music on the phone style. I don't like switching between, I would rather have two different ones. How much memory do you need for the ipod?

8 Gigs is fine. Even with podcasts and audio I never went above that mark wiht my 30GB, I always clean out the playlists weekly with new stuff to listen to at work and in car.

The switching is also what Ive always been for. I dont like "all-in-one" designs....but the Iphone seemed different and much nicer when I tried it.

I have never really played with it that much so if it works nicely then go for it. I would go for the HD though, when friends come over and everything, thats when it really shines.

iTouch. There is going to be a new stand alone HD DVD player on the market at Christmas that will be $199.

I would not get an hd DVD player if I were u. Blu-ray is going to dominate the market as they become more affordable. I work at blockbuster and I can already tell because we rent blu-ray DVD's but not hd. I would get an iPod touch, I am typing this message from my iPhone right now sitting in class and I love it. If you have access to wifi like I do here at school you will love not having to bring a laptop everywhere u go it is a blessing with a boring professor.

Do you miss the phone capability at all? or Camera? I have a Samsung Blackjack and I have no complaints from it.

I have an iphone not an ipod touch. So i have the phone and all of that. I was tired of carrying my cell phone, an ipod and a laptop everywhere i went, that is why i finally broke down and bought it.

In my reply i was suggesting he get the ipod touch because of the wifi and music capabilities since he didnt list the iphone as something he was considering.

Does the blackjack do full html sites or just sites designed for mobile phones? Html and the way i can touch and zoom on antything on a webpage is the reason i chose the iphone over something like your phone...plus i could never give up itunes

If your looking at an Ipod touch, just get the Iphone. Prices came down and now they're the same. The price drop leads me to believe its a 2nd gen phone (or maybe 1.5 with the glitches worked out)

As far as Blu-Ray dominating the market. I dont see that happening. Every blockbuster I've been at rents both BR and HD movies. I forsee a combo player coming out before that happens. Plus movies are usually coming out on both formats anyway. And with prices of stand-alone units dropping, might not be that expensive to get both

hell yea dude, you will love it... Did you have to pay to disconnect your old service? My $200 to NEXTEL was wellllll worth it.

edit: tell me when you find a good case to protect it, I bought a clear hard plastic case from best buy that was pretty nice but the cheap ass clip's broke that hold it together. as soon as I took it off of the phone for the first time. So right now mine is still naked, i jsut dont talk on it unless im over carpet or some soft surface. lol, it's funny how if my phone rings when im outside standing on concrete i refuse to answer it because i know that'll be the first time i drop it.

Buying an HD-DVD player before they decide whether Blue Ray or HD-DVD is going to be a standard is dumb. It's just like beta-max vs VHS, DVD vs gigadisc, HD-DVD vs Blue Ray....wait untill one is decided on.

I assume u have wifi at your place like most other people in 2007 so heres what you need to purchase to go with itunes and your phone

Check out the itunes airport, if u have a sound system and wifi you can stream your music from yur computer and it sounds cd quality. Then if u download a program called Signal to your computer, you can type in an address that it gives you into safari on the phone you can control what song plays from your phone from anywhere in the house.

My roommate and I have our condo set up to where both of our libraries from our desktops have our music on them and I can control all of the music from my laptop or phone anywhere in the condo, its perfect for parties

edit: sorry if this whole post is a run on sentence, i was typing it at work from my iphone
