what do yall think about the boosted f22

when you say "the boosted F22" you must specify which/what you're talking about...

If your talkin about boosting an F22 in general, go for it. if its done right then its the best SOHC honda block you can boost, probably the best honda block period. If done wrong you can have a big mess on your hands. Hondas F and H series motors are the "big blocks" of the honda world

Just do it right. For God's sake, most times when people blow their **** up, its negligence. Stock motor can take about 8psi, but you can get away with a lil more. If you're serious about it, get a spare block and build the motor.

*Walks in....*

Thats what I did...bought a spare motor and reduced downtime.

Too bad the F22 can only handle 8psi...F23 14PSI!!!!!!

Thanks man, I think if you had gotten a Newer JDM engine with alot less miles, I know for a fact you can handle boost /Nitrous daily with no problems if you got it tuned or used low boost , Joshua

dont boost the H22. that thing handles maybe 5psi. FRM sleeves+boost FTL. You'll make maybe a little over 200hp

Proof of what?

that the F23 can hold up to 14psi. Similiar boost was done on a F22, but who knows how long that lasted.

ask EminotheGreat. he's boosted his F23. Brad94Accord had his F22 up at 10psi daily and was running 220+hp, with 290tq. thats ridiculous

WhiteAccord
10-10-2007, 11:48 PM
A guy not located in GA has his boosted F23 stock motor at 14psi for about two years got tired of it, built it and ran 32psi....hehehe

H22 with stock internals...FTL

BlkCD5
10-10-2007, 11:49 PM
plus F22 blocks are a dime a dozen. **** up a H22 and your wallet will burn. Did anyone also mention the H22 barely has torque????, which accords need.

thats f22b tho, on a cb7 its a bit different...pieceing together kits and chipped ecu's...

.blank cd

The H22s torque isnt bad, that motor is just best built N/A. but the motor by itself in the CD chassis, or the CB wakes it up alot

Piece together a DSM turbo. something like out of an eclipse. the injectors should fit in that motor

Technically..... N/A versions of this car is a tad......short in power.

i drive my f23 daily, its fun. not super fast, but it does the job, im at 6psi making over 200whp/ft/lbs. when i get bored, the record on stock block is 17psi, so i figure i will try to beat that, when i get my 3 bar map.

what are you using to tune?

TheChosenOne
11-05-2007, 10:51 PM
I'm bringing this one back from the dead because I am serious about doing it.

I know from research, that the DSM turbo route is the most cost effective way to boost a f22a.

My motor is running great and has had all the maintainance necessary, but it is 200k into the game.

With that being said, I want to run about 7-9 psi, and be "reliable".

I want some feedback in the do's and dont's of a budget boost project.

the biggest mistake on a budget turbo project is when people decide that they are going to run low boost and think it'll be fine to just run a basemap...get it tuned.

i'm all for budget boost builds. i'm still running my junkyard setup i built and installed from over 4.5 years ago.

Hells ya brother! :goodjob:

I sold the integra and hatch, and decided to start fresh with a bone stock cb7.

I am right with you. I definantly going to get a tune, I just want to run low boost to minimize the wear-and-tear of a 200K boosted motor.

scttydb411, can you chip a p06?

Also, what else would I need for the turbo setup to actually start, and run properly? 450cc DSM Injectors, Chipped and tuned ecu, ec?

Awesome platform to start with. Now you know since you've been comin fresh w/ the integra and the hatch, you have to come correct with this too. which is why you should buy my rotors!!!
