Check out what I did this past weekend.

I had Monday and Tuesday off thanks to Columbus Day, so I took advantage of the mini-vacation by going to hang out with the Panducky crew in Melbourne, FL. :D

I know you guys love pics, so let's see 'em!

Tom and I went over to the beach on Sunday and did a little photoshoot. Here's a couple of those pictures, starting with one I took on the drive over there.

http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591510.jpg

Here's the beach itself. The ocean was very choppy with strong currents. It was a lot of effort just to stay in waist deep water.

http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591507.jpg

Now for the juicy mechanical stuff. I had been putting together a brake upgrade, and I agreed to have Panducky do the install and make a weekend out of it. ;)

Fastbrakes 11" adapter kit with rotors and an EX master cylinder:
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591489.jpg

Rear disc trailing arms:
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591501.jpg
I had a 4040 prop valve too, but it's not in the pic.

Slotted rear rotors, HPS pads, stainless lines:
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591481.jpg

I bought 4 new Integra calipers to go with all the other shiny new stopping stuff. Here's a pic of one of the fronts and one of the rears.
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591967.jpg

So let's get installing! First a comparison shot of the little old brakes:
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591496.jpg

Drums are gross.
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591970.jpg

Here's Tom wrenching it up.
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591969.jpg

If you've ever been around the CRX Community or the CRX Resource in the old days, you know this car. We call it 'Tweak.'
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591965.jpg

New front rotors vs. old:

Panducky!
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591979.jpg

Here are the complete front and rear setups:

http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591976.jpg

After bleeding, test driving and bedding the pads, I took some finished shots.
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591974.jpg

I love the way these brakes fill out the 15" wheels. :D
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591973.jpg

Rear discs are beautiful.
http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1126601/18030542/282591971.jpg

And that's that. Hitting the brake pedal is now almost as much fun as hitting the throttle.

Tweak has a water-to-air intercooler setup, the "fuel cell" is actually a custom reservoir for the intercooler. It was made to look like a fuel cell though, so don't feel bad. :D

And my car is Frost White, the code is NH-538.

The visors that I have are no longer available. They were made by a company called "Sinnovations2" but their website is gone now. I bought them in 2005 for $85.

I was going to guess Polar White.

But damn, now I want to go get a paint job. My hatch is also Frost White(NH-538-4), and doesn't look that good.:(

The fastbrakes 11" adapter kit is $160, and then you use 11" Corrado rotors with your choice of Integra, NSX, Prelude, or Accord calipers. Prices on these things are all over the map. Stainless lines are like $130, Hawk Pads are roughly $110 for both axles, rear disc conversions can be had cheap, but of course you want to replace the rusted rotors and calipers. The EX master cylinder was $110, 4040 prop valve came with my rear discs but they're about $50 market value. Fresh calipers are roughly $40 each from NAPA if you have the cores. Then you get new fluid of your choice.

In short... the full system upgrade was roughly $1k.

Thanks for all the parts/prices!

Is it possible for me to just upgrade the fronts like yours? Cause don't you have to get the DA trailoring arms & all that BS for the rear disc conv? .. I don't feel like going on treasure hunts.

I did a front brake overhaul (calipers, pads, and rotors) right after you left for Iraq. The only reason why I didnt do the fastbrake thing is because of my 14in rollers :goodjob:

Yeah you can upgrade just the fronts. You do need the full trailing arms for the rear disc swap, and the prop valve too. If you don't want to mess with that just do the fastbrakes front kit. Fastbrakes sells the adapter kit with several options... You can do what I did and get their adapter kit with rotors for $290 with Integra calipers, pads and stainless lines sold separately. Or, you can do the simple $160 11" adapter kit and buy everything else separately, Or.. you can buy the full front kit from Fastbrakes for $575 which includes everything you need. adapters, rotors, calipers, pads and front stainless lines.

You definitely want to upgrade the master cylinder with the larger front calipers. The dx 13/16" isn't going to cut it. A Civic Ex master cylinder is 15/16", and bolts on to the stock booster. $110 from Fastbrakes. You're pretty much looking at a minimum of $700 for 11" front brakes.

You DO NOT need the full Integra trailing arms for the rear disk brake conversion. It's somewhat easier, however, just to swap the full arm.

How do I know? I did mine without swapping arms.

When I finally decide to upgrade I think I'm going to go the " $160 11" adapter kit and buy everything else separately". I have a friend that works at O'Reilly Auto Parts so I should be able to buy all those parts separately at a cheaper price but anyway when you say "Integra calipers, pads, rotors & Civic EX MBC", what exact year & model do I get for these parts?

any 90up integra caliper, match the pads to the caliper, you need 4x100 VW Corrada rotors, and the master cylinder out of a 90-91 civic ex :goodjob:

^ what Dare said.

you'll want 90-91 VW Corrado G60 rotors. The 92+ Corrados are 5-lug, and the non-supercharged cars had smaller brakes.
