CLEVELAND (AP) -- A gunman opened fire in a high school on Wednesday, injuring five people.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson says three young people and two adults were hurt in the school shooting.

CNN is reporting that the gunman, a 14-year-old student, has been killed.

Ronnell Jackson, 15, said he saw a shooter running down a hall at SuccessTech Academy.
"He was about to shoot me but I got out just in time," he said. "He was aiming at me I got out just in time."

Another student, Doneisha LeVert, said she heard the principal say "Code Blue" over the public address system, and the students started running. She said she hid in a closet with some of her friends.

Tammy Mundy, 38, who has a son and daughter at the school, told The Plain Dealer of Cleveland that her daughter called when the shooting started.

"She said, 'Mom they're shooting in here, kids are running out, I'm hiding in the closet,"' Mundy told the newspaper.

Then she called her 18-year-old son, Darnell Rodgers, on his cell phone, and he told her he had been shot in the arm.

"He said, 'Mom I got shot,"' Mundy told the newspaper.

Now by "the gunman was killed"...how did he die? I hope he didn't get the chance to shoot himself...I hope he died unwilling...but I don't see police shooting a 14yr old either...

In a situation where someone was endangering lives especially with a firearm, the police would shoot regardless of age.

In a situation where someone was endangering lives especially with a firearm, the police would shoot regardless of age.
Yeah, but that's high-risk...I mean I DEFINITLY understand your POV, and I totally agree...but anymore, I could see the kid's parents taking it to court going "they gunned down my 14yr old son! (or daughter...assuming son, though. Girls don't get this dumb...they just get provoked by guys to rob banks)" Attempting to make the kid sound as though he was "insane" or "mentally unstable because the kids wouldn't play with him"

If the kid did turn it on himself, though...Police couldn't be blamed, but that means the kid killed himself by choice and took the ***** way out. What I'd LOVE to read is that some quiet guy that never really said much stepped up behind the kid and was secretly a black belt, knocked the kid on his ass, and the gunman ACCIDENTALLY shot himself in the ****, and the kid went into shock and bled to death. THAT...would be ****ing AWESOME!

damn by the time i have kids this well be happening once a week
If I have a son, he'll shoot up a school.
If I have a daughter, she'll get raped.
If I have either, they'll get gunned down or kidnapped.

I half consider even wanting kids...

And if I adopt...they'll turn an airsoft on me. (I get this idea by the foster brother I had turning the airsoft on the family that adopted him after we had him...)

wow, school shootings arent fun. i dont wish to have a shooting at my school cuz i dont even know what i would do. run for my life, be a hero, save my girlfriend, become a hostage.. anything could happen depending on my mood. id prolly save my gf tho. unless it was her shooting, then id say crazy *****! then run for my life
