View Full Version : Misc Saigon Cafe
Anyone eater at any of them I know there are 4 of them 1 in duluth on satellite blvd, one in norcross on jimmy carter, another in lawrenceville on old peachtree road, and the one in woodstock on hwy 92. People have told me that one is better than another. Anyone know which ones the best I wanna go and check one out for lunch some time.

Jimmy Carter and Satellite are good to me...I've been to the one off old ptree and it was ehhh....but regardless, if I'm not getting any home cooking, those places are cheap and food is filling.

+1 for the one off of Satellite. You have to watch the "pho," though. A lot of times, I have to run to the bathroom after having a big bowl.

yeah, you just gotta watch for alot of "oil/fat" sometimes which can be common in pho even at the best pho resturants on Buford hwy it happens......
but I can make it, so I usually just go for the rice plates.

The one on Satellite blvd, is probably one of the best one. The one on Old P'tree is like what AznTraitor said. Other than that, Pho is good...but doesnt last too long.

Their pho sucks. But for someone who doesn't know what it suppose to taste like, I guess it is a starter. The "what the pho" accross the street is better and authentic. But then authentic pho might be too strong of a taste for the newbies.

EWWWWWWW! What The Pho stinks man!!! I went there when they first opened up and i was very dissappointed.
My parents are good friends with the owner or Pho Hoa in Asian Square and I think they have the best Pho, it just sucks that the parking in that plaza is horrible....

Saigon Cafe on satellite is way too commercialized. Too much msg in there pho, rice, bun, etc. For pho, go to pho bac on buford hwy, or my restaurant. Nowadays pho got out of control, one in every damn corner. They fucked up the original "authentic" taste, and made it fit for american tastes. Bleh, i personally prefer the pho restaurant i work at. The restaurant's called "Saigon Bangkok." Bubble tea anyone?

Pho Hein off Jimmy Carter blvd is great also. unlike saigon, an XL bowl is actually extra large bowl.

Pho Hoa and Pho Bac are definitely great choices. I just goto Saigon Cafe on 92 since it's so close to me.
I don't think any newb will like seeing raw meat in their soup either!!

I work at saigon bangkok, ALL the way on the other end of satellite, where buford drive (hwy 20) intersects each other. You'll see it on your right.

saigon bangkok? They sell food from both worlds? Hope so, cuz some curry flavored pho doesn't sound so appetizing

True Pho is very strong like PurpleGodzilla stated. I don't think a lot of Americans would like it. Saigon has very good food if you're not looking for Pho. If you're looking for real pho-find a Vietnamese friend and ask their mom to make it for you. I have a friend that I work w/ that his mom makes true Vietnamese dinners for us all the time. I've gotten accustomed to it and I love it.
I still go out to Saigon all the time w/ my girlfriend. I think there food and hospitality is A++++. # thumbs up for the Saigon Cafe on Satellite and Pleasant Hill.

I love this place, I live fairly close to the one off 92 and for a while I was going about once/twice a week. My buddy got really sick eating something though and refuses to go back now, like a lot of people who get sick after a certain food. I hadn't ever tried bubble tea either until I went here, the same goes for those like slushy things that you can have em put the jelly in... I need to go back ASAP.
Bottom Line:
Pros: Cheap, Filling, Pretty Damn Good Tasting.
Cons: Bowels Don't Always Share Your Enthusiasm for Saigon Cafe.

Hey, I go to Saigon Bangkok quite frequently. I always get the pho there and it's good as hell. The bubble drinks are the shit, cause it has real fruit in it. My girlfriend and I always go there and she always gets the chicken pad thai and honeydew bubble drink. I highly recommend this place, the food is so good.
Pho hoa in asian square is my all time favorite, the pho is good and the grill chicken plate is great too, cheap, and you can still smoke inside, haha
i used to go almost 4 times a week when i loved closer, now i only go when i have to pic up things at the ranch market
but for real pho, i call up my viet friend and go to her house cuz her dad makes THE BEST i have ever had

I've tasted homemade Pho that my family makes, Pho from all the restaurants on Buford & they all taste almost the same. I don't know about the "authentic Pho" being really strong tho, I must not notice it or something. Don't ever get bowel problems either, it must be because Viet people have stronger stomachs :)
