Alpine CDA-9887 (http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=CDA-9887) ... Well worth the money. I'm thinking of trading my AVIC-N2 for it.

Good choice. And yeah, Alpine.com's prices are just ridiculous. Car audio places can generally get them a lot cheaper. Then again, e-bay is also a beautiful place.

I'd hate to see the price SS quoted you. SS was more than 400 more than even Circuit City when I was looking at an Eclipse 4000.

I would reccomend Eclipse for a head unit. They are some of the ebst you will be bale to buy mainstream.

Alpine and Eclipse.....also Panasonic has some good radios.

I have an Alpine in both my car and my truck. In my car I have the 9815 model Apline, and in the truck I have the newest Alpine....can't remember the model number, But I love it. Also Eclipse has some really good stuff, but a little more pricey i think.

150 for a head unit is a good price.

You spend any less and you are sacrificing good sound quality and reliability.

You could always get one used, I got a badass sony player thats still 300 bucks, for 120 two years ago, and I still use it.
