I need some help. I'm trying to think of a RWD or AWD car for under $10,000, but without getting raped by insurance.
These are the cars that I (or others) have already thought of;
-Higher mileage E36 M3
-3000GT VR4
-MKIII Supra
-240SX
And yes I know the the first three are going to have higher insurance, that why I need some help. Also needs to be somewhat safe, and can't be any older than 1990. Please no mazda's, I know I'm being picky but any help will be much appreciated.

Yea Im facing the same problem.
I can tell you from my exspierience 240's get old real easy, you see them everywhere you go and don't get one if you want to have something individual.
I'm not a ****subishi fan but I love VR4's they're just exspensive and rare. Once again from my personal exsperience mitsu's are not relaible but I could have just dealt with a few bad apples.
I'm considering a Miata but at my size I wouldn't sit in a miata I would wear a miata (6ft, 220lbs), but they are super light and with a decent amount of mods can haul ass.:D
Plus I hear they handle awsome!!!:goodjob:
just my :2cents:
EDIT: never mind about the mazda's, I missed that part:doh:

Everyone that I have known personally has had major problems, I'm not saying all are bad but i just don't want to deal with that.

There was one on autotrader for $10,900 with 63k miles, I'm sure they would have come down on it.

miata ftw. no problems out of any that ive ever heard of. get a late 90s -93 for less than 3k. cheap ins. put itbs and a computer and some coilovers and you have a CRAZY handling decently fast/good looking car.
if not that, mk3 supra.

NA would be a great choice, they can be had [like stated above] pretty cheap, which leave plenty of $$ for mods.

even though you said no mazda's, id say if you get a na miata get one with the 1.8 and not the 1.6. oh and size isnt goin to be that much of a prob. im around 5 ft 10 in and weigh more than you.

-It's not the fact that I don't like/respect/want a miata, it's just a long story thats is not entertaining nor informative.
-The only problem with the MKIII is I don't know how much insurance would be for an 18 year old.

**** i'll sell you my 300zx for that kind of dough...or just 7,000. And with 3,000 extra from your 10,000 you can twin turbo that ***** and run mid 13's Throw another grand on top of that into mods and you can see high 12's/low 13's. That is granted you swap the engine yourself that is. But ya you dont see too many convertible 300zx's...on top of that fact since the convertible didnt come twin turbo in the states you dont see too many twin turbo ones either. You do see them but they are pretty uncommon.

don't forget leather interior and 5spd, staggered off set rims ( 7f/8r, 8f/9r with SHP package )
Don't recommend the car though if you're not a Do It Yourself kind of guy.
How about a SVX? AWD and Non-Turbo.

well, a Starion/Conquest can definitely be a daily driver if you find one that has been taken care of, and if you do preventative maintainence.
Hasan - the 86? Will it drive? If its driveable ( and not ghetto rigged ) I just MIGHT know of a buyer already for it :D

The mkIII in addtion to insurance will rape you in gas daily driven wise(18/24mpg). They're pretty reliable though.

Yeah, I'm gonna stick with another honda/acura for now. It will be just as slow as my old car but, oh well.
i believe he is selling the white one that got into the accident with jdm motor for about 1800 that was awhile back when i was in cali...6-7 months ago...
a VR4 for 10,000 or less you are asking for nothing but problems but great car non the less just a bit priecy
