couldnt serve, unfortunately. but have many friends who are in all branches and a few who have given their lives to the cause of freedom. FREEDOM isnt FREE, always thank anyone you see in uniform b/c it is them that allow us to do and be the people that we are. to all of you who have, are currently, and will, you have my deepest thanks and gratitude

navy veteran, avionics.
was buddied to join with someone, but that dude(my own cousin, fucker) bitched out on me AT the signing of induction into service papers. imagine, it took them 11months, even though i knew i was goin, to get me to sign up, he said, "hey why dont we buddy up that way we can stay together through this..." i figure, that's cool .
so 11 months later after i've asked him occasionally if he was sure, the recruiter sits us down , hands us both a contract and a pen. i look at my cousin ,ask him you ready? he says "yeah lets do it", so i begin filling out the contract sit back with a smile which disappears immediately once i look at my cousin's contract and see it's blank. he's sitting there strokin his goatee talkin 'bout: "imma need a little more time to think about it".

my eyes get bloodshot red with fury as i look at him, he wont even look in my direction. 6 days later i graduate highschool, 6 days after that i'm in boot camp in great lakes, illinois. either way, navy , loved it. would i do again ? no i'd go marine. my cousin? fuck him, we havent seen eye to eye since then, plus he's drunk and high more than alert and sober anyway.
