The guy I talked to earlier when I first got there said it might have just been the shell for the r10, as in it didn't have the engine or transmission installed at the moment. Though with petit le mans starting today, I wouldn't see why they would've just had the shell.

The R10's are VERY VERY quiet.

yes the Audi R10 is super quiet car. Its one of the fastest too. It kind of sounds like a mini jet engine at the dB level of about half the other cars. It did lead just about the entire race for one of the prototype classes.

The Audi that was on display was a demo car. Don't think the engine and tranny were in it as it is just rolled around. The db level is insanely quiet. It is one of the only cars I don't have to have ear protection when standing 10' away from it as it goes by.
