Mmm...and it's a wagon too! Sucks it has the gas engine, think those were underpowered 5.7/350's if I remember correctly but still sexy :yumyum:

hell yeah you can. you can get a holley 144 blower and add 100hp easily. add some aluminum heads, a nice cam, and a good exhaust and youre lookin at about 400+ hp.

i dont think so. usually...something that is rare and stops being produced, the price on it goes higher.

The army is gonna start retiring them pretty soon and they will get cheaper. Will never happen, HMMWV's have been made since before 1983 with over 70,000 of them just the first 5 years and most of those have long since been driven to their death and/or destroyed. Who knows how many were made from 1989-1994 then in '95 they went to the 6.5 liter engine, electronic auto transmission, etc. You can buy the older 6.2 liter engines all day long on eBay for under a grand. I knew more about those vehicles before I could legally drive then most military personal

Military HMMWV's are completely 100% federally illegal on US highways per the DOT (outside of military use obviously). Then per the US Military/US Defense Department technically they can't even be sold at military auctions in pieces larger than 24"-36", that includes the frame, body, etc. yet they do still make it through sometimes. Normally it's purchased as a bare frame that's been seperated from the body and sometimes even cut in 1/2, sold at the auction, then welded and pieced back together before making its way out to the general public.

You know those little white and blue DOT cars you see pulling over dump trucks or rigs and pulling out the portable scales on them...they could easily pull over any HMMWV and have it towed and crushed if it's civilian owned. Now that would suck! Better put a nice coat of glossy paint on it so it looks legal ;)

I still want one. :ninja:

There's a nice little setup on eBay right now i'd LOVE to have for $15,000...10 miles on a 2007 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel with the Allison transmission and transfer case -- stock 365hp w/ 660lbs-ft. torque. :yumyum:

If I had the money to blow I wouldn't think twice about picking up that wagon and putting that drive & powertrain in it...hell, under $40k for a Hummer you get to build yourself?! Alpha H1 Wagons are $140,000 new and certainly don't have 700lbs-ft of torque! :D
