He dropped onto his back with his hands in the air (while quickly shaking). He had a severe trauma to the brain/brain stem/nervous system that produced the temporary petrified state of sorts.

are we talkin' about the same one? where he was in the corner, and got caught with a quick right and just fell to his knees and fell back against the wall? Bleh... I used to have the video but can't find it now.

Maybe not? I know that one that you are describing. I am speaking of his very first fight in the UCF (MANY MANY MANY years ago). UCF 2 or 3 or something like that.

I'm sure I've seen it.. I believe this one was UFC 7 or something. Where he hits the guy, and the guy just slumps to the ground in the most akward position.
