Will have is own dedicated Forum.

With the success and the potential we see with the KILLSFORUM.COM I think is worth a shot.

Yes, is More work for us at IA, but I think is worth trying it out. Nothing to loose.

It will give users more areas geared towards performance and the subject on hand RACING in general.

Only down side to this is : You will have to re-register. Is like starting new.

KILLSFORUM.COM is/will still be owned by IA.com , just separate.
The advantage Killsforum.com will have is the backing of IA.com

I am Positive that it will become succesful over time.... I've been to a few meets and think/see the potential the name has.

So any ideas, please share it here.. is still in the works and building.

You guys are the pros.

Thanks -

I think the existing members should be noted on the other site so they're not considered newbies. Whether it be by their reps carried over, post count, length of time as a member, etc.

We typically know who we can invite to call out, invite to run, and share info with by how long they've been around and how well known they are.

Edit: And keep the site really basic. It's all about racing. To be honest, I think all it would need is something like the Kills Forum OT and then the Kills Forum with a place to post callouts, videos, kill stories, etc.

Also, set up a roster for the fastest around controlled by a super mod to change. Different classes for bikes and cars.

We can do that. Once they register all that can be fixed, no problem.

we are really looking into this. Even with IA right now. Is alot of bandwith.

The problem we saw, we have free image hosting and it was not as succesful as we thought it would be.

But we are working/thinking about it, because we rather have the bandwith instead of giving it to some other site. But that will become some serious bandwith and some serious $$$. But if the sites moves on foward, it will def be added.

will we be able to host videos using the site for a short period of time.

For example - members could send their videos to mods to be hosted by the site for a short time (2 weeks, so we dont take up bandwidth). This way we could provide excellent video quality for members and make it easier for members to download the videos onto their on computer.

Good Idea Tiger to able to download vids. Also will there be anything else on this new site? or is it mostly just for KIlling in the forums?

I added some text to my last post:

And keep the site really basic. It's all about racing. To be honest, I think all it would need is something like the Kills Forum OT and then the Kills Forum with a place to post callouts, videos, kill stories, etc.

Also, set up a roster for the fastest around controlled by a super mod to change. Different classes for bikes and cars. From a street racing roster and a track roster for those that prefer only racing at the track.

Rules for the races, how the process to move up works, etc. Don't segregate the imports from domestics. I'd only have a seperate sub-forum for bikes so they can find races.

Possibly give a little more reign to the members over what's done. Almost everyone talks trash on the KillsForum, but when there's one person in particular that acts like an idiot, maybe a petition/poll to ban a member for a certain period of time. In order to vote to ban someone you must be a registered member for a certain amount of time, certain amount of posts/reps, etc.

Also, maybe make a library with a certain person's runs. Say you want to see one person's races ni particular and you can view their library of runs. Or even an entire gallery with everyone's runs.

On the roster page, have a video of the runs that got them in that position. For instance; Hunter raced Clark and Clark won. Host a video beside Clark's name showing the how the race went down in order for him to take first place. No video = no roster. Will be more motivation for members to post their videos.

I'll post more as I come up with more ideas. Not sure how hard it would be to implement these things.

And please do not move over all members' post count/reps.

If they got all of their posts/reps from Whoreslounge and other non-car related forums, don't count those towards the new site. Not sure how hard it would be to do, but it would prevent the post whores going over there and having any type of credit when they never run anything but their mouth.

this sounds great. i've been waiting for this and thought it would never happen. thanks julio

maybe sepereate sections for track video and street racing videos. Everyone that races is pretty well known so just putting their screen name in the thread title would be clear enough. It would be easy to find everyone's runs since they all are in one forum

Thanks for the ideas guys. It will def be a performance oriented site.

It will be a simple forum with hopefully alot of technical info. Thats where we want to head with this.
I think we have a strong local presence as it sits right now. Nothing but room to grow.

Sky's the limit... but it will start of small.. sorda like a beta run.

I will be back later and gather ideas and take it from there...

Thanks peeps.

see thats the diff between "storage" and "bandwidth"

doing that clears storage (which is pretty cheap), but the bandwidth would stay the same..

let me describe it...

say you have a 1MB porn file on your website ... thats 1MB of storage right?

now say 50 horny red light district mother****ers download that file.... thats 50 x 1MB so thats 50MB of BANDWIDTH for that month..

but Julio, have you ever heard of Simplehost ****s cheap as **** like 8 bux a month, unlimited storage, like 2 terabytes of transfer a month (i have no idea how big IA is ...but thats a thousand gigabytes of bandwidth, i think that'd be more than big enough for the KF? i dunno tho)http://www.simplehost.com/web-hosting.htm

damn all that ****s possible, you gotta make vbb modules for that **** which is going to be pretty time consuming. BUt mad other forums did stuff like that (ie gadsm and dsmtuners). But yeah if it turns out like that, it'd be freaking awesome!.

But yeah you can add that **** later on surely. Just get it up and going first.

You know I dont go to any of the races atleast I have not in a longggg time. However I just wanted to put a little input in since I would like to come to these in the future. I have know Z 8 Later for a few years now and a few others with that caliber of vehicle and I would love to see what they can do.
Anyway...
Starting a new forum like that, posting all this and that about what we are doing and when and who is winning is asking for trouble yall. How easy is it to join this site? Simple, its free and takes a few minutes. If you sit there and read this and that and figure out who you supposely "know" you could easily make it seem like you were some new guy that heard about the races from someone that is big into it and wants to join up.
Now boys, thats asking for some cop to get smart and figure out how we plan that ****.
Call me paranoid but **** thats the truth. If anyone gets on that forum and any locations are established they should either be previous members of the "events" or shoudl have to have met someone there or have some sort of notice by another member. Granted not many people know me here racing wise and that wont help me finding these "events" but for us all having fun and getting away with this, we gotta be hella cautious.

Just thought I would put my input in. I have been pulling off dumb **** like that all my life and been pretty damn good at not getting caught simply because I took the time to think out angles and be that "paranoid guy". Well that "paranoid guy" is quite good at pulling the dumbest of things and never getting caught.
Yeah thats it. lol

You're not being paranoid, I beleve everyone knows gwinnett pd patrols this site. I am totally against the idea of creating a library to keep track of all the ppl racing in a public forum. Stuff like that should be only seen by Ppl who we all know for a fact is a real member of this community that ppl have met in real life

a private area for certain members would also be a good idea....that way only people that need to see vids can see them then u dont have to worry about certain things as much.

Don't think a dyno day would do too well considering most people on here like to keep their numbers/setup a secret.

Overall I think that this is a great idea. However I do not think that there should be a history of your runs. Talking crap about runs and callouts are one thing. But after a while of documenting everyone's visits to Mexico, sooner or later the border patrol might put a stop to visiting the mexican dyno. :ninja:

I like the most of the ideas, however, I don't think putting the videos in a private forum would do anything but hinder the site, most of the popular threads over here are the threads with videos of runs in them.

I do think that having a 'no spot posting'/no 'event' posting policy would help protect a lot of the the people here from unnecessary added risk.

GAH...I can't wait till I get the talon all straightened out so I can be one of the slowest active members of KF.

It would be a good idea if the site was like RSW racing, Az Racing, Need2Speed, Streetracingisnotacrime, ect... but I dont see people joining IA just to watch vids in the kills forums now. Unlike those other site that have people from other countries actively posting **** in their kills section. I would say work on expanding the existing section now then branch out, but what do I know.
