A revolutionary product! This universal shiftknob with LCD display is not only good for looks: it also increases driving safety and helps reduce fuel consumption by up to 15 percent by means of an adapted driving style.

This shiftknob fits all cars with manual transmissions up to 6 speed and is designed to work with every gearshift pattern.
(Does not work with cars that have gear levers with reverse gear locking mechanism). If you have to push down for reverse that is fine, what this means is that you just cannot have any type of switch that is part of your current OEM shift knob that must be switched/engaged etc. to get into the reverse gear.

A light sensor in the Indy-Cator adapts the brightness of the digital display to the surrounding light by means of an automatic dimming function, ensuring optimal readability at all times.

The connection to the cars power supply and gear assignment programming is very simple, and of course the shiftknob comes with detailed instructions for installation. It does not require wiring into the transmission, ECU or any other module of the car!

Available with red, blue or green display.

Hmmm.... looks good. However, I never look down at the shirt knob when shifting.

I have no idea how people are gonna believe this actually saves you gasBecause if going down the highway at 7,500 rpms doesn't clue you off to the fact you're in the wrong gear. You can look down at the shifter and it will say 3

If you can't tell what gear you're in by RPM and speed you're a ****ing idiot.

If you can't tell what gear you're in by just looking at the shifter for a second, you're a ****ing idiot. I've never confused my gears.

Rice. BTW, how does it work? How does it tell what gear you're in? From what I know, it wouldn't even know what gear my car's in because my ECU doesn't detect my gear.

It uses GPS to determine what the shifter's position is in your car. By knowing that... The satellite uplink will send a signal down, telling the shift knob to display the proper gear.

The design of the knob itself is nice, but the big LED numbers are a bit much.

Oh, I stand corrected then! I guess i'll definatley need to buy one of these then since my car is so quiet and I can't hear what rpms i'm at...

lol

hmm doesn't matter about sound, you can still feel a difference between 2k rpms an 7k

If you stick to 2500 rpms during shifts on most cars you save alot of gas, unless you got a POS car and it needs 3500+ to get going. That device is cool, but most people dont glance down while shifting. Now if it had a remote device going to the dash it would be nifty.

lol that is retarded, if you cant tell what gear you are in you need to get an automatic car, plus gas mileage thing is stupid.
I have a "fuel economy" shift light in my gage cluster that comes on at 2000 rpms to get better gas milage, it is the most annoying thing ever

I don't know about anyone else, but my hand tends to cover the knob when I shift. So I'd have to put it in a gear, remove hand to check if i'm in the right gear the then re-adjust accordingly? I would think that would be very distracting to a beginner. And if you aren't a beginner, you don't need it. Looks cool, awesome gimick. IMO you could also just go ahead and label your mirrors left right and middle so you know which one you are looking at.

It's a show car gimmick. I've seen it myself on one of the best show cars out there. He showed it to me at HIN sometime ago.

See that makes sense, because if you're dumb enough to build a car strictly for show, you probably need something to tell you what gear you are in when you are putting it on and off the trailer.

shift knob, $169
buying a new car because you totaled it staring at your shifter, $20,000
having enough brains to know what gear you are in, Priceless
