Finally! Kawasaki has updated the Ninja 250R for 2008! Retail pricing did go up a little putting it right at 3500.00 I do believe. But for all the beginner riders looking for something nice, I believe Kawasaki has stepped up on this one!

if more manufactures offered smaller bikes with current technology and development more riders would start on these-and really learn how to ride

well im 5'1 weight about 115 pounds. im not looking for something fast but what you guys think? 250 would be better? but i still have to lower the 250 to match my height right?

I would definitely recommend the 250 over the 650r (guessing the 650 is the kaw) Not just based on your deminsions, however with your size you may be more comfortable on the 250, but also because this new ninja 250 has considerably more power than the previous years and looks SO much better. The resale values on the Ninja's hold fairly strong so if you take care of it and want to move up, selling it won't be an issue at all.

I'm a big fat **** and I love the little 250's. I had an old one and the new one looks great. 15 more HP than the old one, I wonder what the new motor is based on.

A 250 will give larger bikes a hard time on the dragon. All your friends will laugh untill you hit the twisties, and if you bought a sports bike to go straight, well, that's all I really need to say. The 50MPG is really nice, and my insurance was a whopping $57 a year.

I saw one a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know what it was until I saw someone post it. It was green like that too. It had an exhaust on it and sounded odd but again it's a 250.
Which I bet that thing would be awesome for shooting around downtown/midtown Atlanta. Probably fairly nimble but still looks cooler than a Vespa. But I'm 220lbs and 6' tall so it wouldn't be powerful enough for me. Especially since all my friends ride Litre bikes.

I'm pretty sure you didn't see this bike on the road anywhere. Kawasaki has not released them yet. We placed our order for them today and like I said, we should see them on our floor in December of this year. Good try though! ;)

Maybe there is a Kawasaki 500 or something but it was green and looked just like that bike. I saw it at the intermural feilds in Athens (Off College Station) 2 Sundays ago. I'm sure i was mistaken about it being a 250 but it looked just like that bike and had exhaust that didn't sound close to a normal race 600 bike.

Yeah. You are right. I looked it up and I'm pretty sure that is what it was. I thought it was a Zx-6r at first until I heard him rev it up and the motor sounded like what a 250 would sound like or even a 500. It didn't sound strong at all.
But I did hear him get on the Loop and go WOT and it sounded like it was moving somewhat quickly but not as powerful at a 600race bike.
Either way both are cool looking bikes that look 10x better than mine.

It could have been custom painted, because the Ninja 650R only came in red and blue this year. It was black and silver last year. Anyway, long live the mysterious green bike in Athens. lol
Also, the bike greatly resembles the older 600's in the front end, so you may have seen an older model. Good lookin' out though!

Damnit. Now this is pisisng me off. I gotta find that bike. I'll tackle him off it if I have to.
Now it could have been a ZX-6r which are green. But if so it was the strangest sounding crotch rocket I have ever heard. It didn't have the pitch, whine, or snap of a normal race bike.
One of my friends plays intermural league soccer on Sundays. If that same bike plays on Sundays then he/she will be there again and I'll look out for it. I hate mysteries.
I will be psyched if I find the guy/gal and it turns out to be the new 250 and he knows someone in Kawasaki and was testing it. I'll have some major pw3nage to pass out. But I doubt it.
