Alright guys, so I picked up the new car today and rode up to stockbridge tonight to show some buddies, on the way home, I noticed that the light in my boost gauge doesn't work, the function of the gauge isn't affected, but it'd be nice to be able to see it at night...I'm guessing that it isn't wired up, so I was just wondering where I should wire it up and ground it. The car is a 95 Eagle Talon and the gauge is an autometer Ultra-Lite mechanical boost gauge.

wire it into one of your dash lights...ground it anywhere

bleh, so I finally got it all hooked up, but when the car is off, it zeroes out at 3 PSI, does that mean my reading is going to be 3 PSI high on the boost side, and x inches high on the vacuum side.

thats weird...make sure you have it tee'd off right...

whats the vacuum (hg) at idle?

If its an autometer I have had this happen to mine. The needle was in the wrong position on mine and wasnt zeroed out.

vac is like -10 inHG at idle.

and yes, it is an autometer.

it's hooked up exactly as per instructions, I went back and double checked everything after I shut the car off and noticed it.

autometer gauges arent the most accurate and some slip by through quality control like this.

my autometer boost gauge does the same thing when its cold the needle rests at like 1-2 psi on a hot day the gauge rests at 0

shouldnt it be like -13...

make sure it goes intake manifold> tee > nipple > boost guage...probably have a leak somewhere or something...

well like I said with the car shut off it zeros out at 3 PSI, so I'm guessing the whole guage is off.

maybe late... dunno... but I have mine wired to mi cig lighter and have a switch associated with the boost gauge. This way when I am not trying to draw attentio to myself and simple commute, I cannot see the gauge but at the flick of a switch/button it is on:)
