Hell yeah Durden got an FD!

Ok so my buddy Durden has a silver integra with intake. Auto, slow the whole nine. Anyway he has always wanted a damn FD rx7. Well hes kind of a quiet guy and never really did anything to the integra which is great because all of our friends would have made fun of him and he knew it would be pointle because he didnt really like the thing anyway. Well all our friends consist of my car, a yellow wrx, yellow mkIV, turbo se-r, talon tsi,turbo accord,s13 with an rb26 some evos and chris durdens' stock integra.

Well about a month ago I make a post on facebook on durdens page

"Chris secretly has a 500 hp rx7 and is going to bust all of our asses one day."

Little didnt I know (and he just told us this last weekend), that way back in May before KSU let out he bought a fucking dark blue 93 FD clean as shit off ebay!

He didnt want anybody to find out so he reanted a damn storage container, hid it from his parents, and slowly put a shit load of parts on it.

Over the past few months he a massed an INGS body kit, big single turbo, tein ha's, work wheels, and the list goes on.

He is importdreamer56 on here. And bottom line is the FD is like his dream car and he wanted one for SO LONG, worked his ass off and bought one. AND TO MAKE IT BETTER, DOESNT TELL ANYONE!!! Imagine getting your dream car after this long and keeping it secret from your friends for almost 3 months!!!! I couldnt have done it.

He would have kept it secret longer but need some help with a few of the installs.He wanted to show up in it one night i guess. Damn I am just baffled, that was so hardcore.

Yea, all that time we would call his car slow and joke around...and he could have been like "BITCH I WILL BUST YOUR ASS WITH MY FD SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

But he never did.

Impressed. Also, I think it is soo cool that he got the FD because I have known how badly he has wanted it. And the fact he was hiding it and building it is even more impressive to me.

Good luck with your FD, importdreamer56. They are great cars, but they are VERY fickle when you dump a lot of mods into them (heck, they are fickle bone stock). I hope that it won't become a cash pit for the sake of keeping it running.

Yeah he definitely jewed us this time.....and Id rather have a rotary but ls1's are still sick in rx7s.

The ls1 isn't really that heavy. It keeps the weight balance pretty close.

congrats and enjoy the FD, I love mine and it's been my dailey driver for the past 100K+ miles. (except for right now, new engine going in)

Mods are easy to install, but more tricky to work the bugs out. I've had mine for 5 years now.. let me know if you need an extra opinion on something.

anytime.. its' a red '93. Started as a touring. I lost the Bose and Leather, put on R1 Shocks, Upgraded sway bars, strut tower braces, Apexi Power FC, open down pipe and open mid pipe, HKS intake, Larger stock mount IC...

With the new engine going in i'm dropping down to a 11 lb. flywheel, new springs, engine grounding kit, flow testing the injectors, losing my cruise control, replacing a few hoses there are getting crispy.. that's it for the most part.

this is a never ending battle on rx7 fourms across the web but, a ls1 fits in the exact spot as the rotary and actually weights less that a 13BT or 13BREW. thus makeing the balance a the same if not better! i use to hate the swap but im planning one after i get my other swap done. this car ran a mid 11 (spinning through 3rd) with just a LWFW, clutch and CAI!! it makes about 325rwhp. the owner took me for a ride in it and it made me feel a little sick in 3rd gear. heres a pic of a LS1 swapped FC

We already undid it and dropped it.

Just a few more things we have to get off and the tranny is dropped. It didn't help the situation that we started working on the car at 11pm last night and some of us had to work in the morning.

It's not that hard to work on, just a lot of heat sheilds and braces.

It's weird to see the tranny is only held the motor with 4 bolts.

should be out end of next week. flywheel was last thing i needed and it will be here thursday. motor went in for machining yesterday. if not end of next week. hten the week after. but i am shooting for that time. it wnot be ready to race till my break in is up and i go to mainstream to tune it.

its a really cool car...im glad to see it running. it would have been running a lot sooner if i didn't have to go behind chris and fix all the nuts he rounded off and threads he crossthreaded. now we need to fix the oil drain line leak and some other various small things.

and get a TAG and INSURANCE so you can drive the damn thing!

oh did i mention me and jimmy having to tighten down various bolts that chris didn't but said he did to stop exhuast leaks...such as the downpipe bolts and the bolts that bolt the turbos to the motor.

hey chris i know why your car wouldn't make boost...im pretty sure the charge pipe has to be bolted to the throttle body.
