I have the (awesome) factory Bose system in my POS car right now. I added a 12w3v2, Alpine V-Power amp (for sub), Pioneer 6.5" screen, Pioneer AVR-8000R brain, Pioneer CD changer, and Icon dvd player. Now my factory amp is humming. It's so loud, it sounds like I have a super charger. Is there a way to get rid of that whining? It started off AFTER I added the dvd system. Wasn't before when I just had the sub and amp. Any ideas?

ground, RCAs near power source. could be a HUGE number of things.

If you've narrowed it down to what the source is (dvd), then you're half way there.

Check the grounds of the DVD system and re-ground really well. Check to see where the signal feeds are running. Are they running on top of the amp wires by chance?

If you're sure it's the DVD, check all of it's connections again.

member the bose are self amped and maybe your dvd player is trying to power the powered bose speakers and essentially if over powering them.

that wont create engine noise.

I never said it was the dvd player. I was just listing off what I have. lol. It's coming from the back speaker deck, by the back driver's side speaker.

Oh. and these are all seperate units. Brain under passenger seat, screen in dash, DVD player in center console, Sub and amp under the hood with the engine. So it's not an all in one flip out dash unit thingy majigger. It's actually pretty pimp. Yous guys may like it. I know Jamie will. :D.

you possibly could just need a in line noise filter for your dvd setup. $20

why not just buy an all in one unit, like my clarion or something, (no im not sellign it, just a reference) buyinga bunch of differnet shit and putting it everywhere isnt pimp

Because I like my setup better. The dash kits for my cars suck. They look like shit, especially if I get an indash flip out like yours. Mine looks cleaner, and is custom. I'll take a few pics.

Yeah, mine's made of ABS plastic, also major PITA. Take some close-ups of your unit. I haven't seen it yet. I'll take some with my camera phone when I go on break in a little while.

So where can I get one of those, and how do I install it?
