Talk to [email protected] . Its a pretty straight forward swap, seeing as the gs300 already has a 2jzge. I'm sure it comes down to wiring...like most swaps. Gluck!

It been done many times. Try ClubLexus.com for all the info you need of doing this swap. I think Mahdavi motorsports is doing one right now. Somewhat of the swap is easy cause a GS300 is the non turbo supra motor (2jzge) so that part should drop right in. The rest is modded driveshaft depends on what tranny your using. I think Veritek on here might have done the swap already.

that's all it comes down to, other than that it'll drop right in

I thought AAP was done. Didn't they get bought out?

Either way, [email protected] can also get you a quote. AIM: Vteckidd It's only a lot more expensive if someone talks you into polishing everything under the hood ;)

not to bad guys,.. i think battleground won the "pictures war" lol
both shops look like they have done nice work.. i am partial to battlebround, the last time i was there wasn in there OLD shop and had my honda dyno'd.. an di KNOW they know supras...
i like the 95ish white gs though... very nice

GGPIS3
09-21-2007, 02:15 PM
haha funny you guys posted all those pics but neither shop posted a pic of a 98 GS with a 2jz-gte... lol

why do a motor swap though? why not just drop in gte pistons and rods into your ge block? its the same block as the gte.. only difference is pistons/rods/oil squirters.

GGPIS3
09-21-2007, 02:16 PM
ok i lied.. theres a few more differences... :ninja:

SpeedMonkey
09-21-2007, 02:25 PM
how much sense would it make to use the GE head on a GTE block?

GGPIS3
09-21-2007, 02:37 PM
depends on your goals... if you are going for over 1000 whp.. the gte head will flow better.

if 7-800 suits your needs... a ge head will work just fine.

thats another question i had, can i put a "turbo kit" on the stock motor with a litle upgrading of the motor... we will see!!

GGPIS3
09-21-2007, 04:25 PM
jimmy b... you really need to give us more specifics... how much are you budgeting for this build? what kind of power are you looking for on pump and race? do you plan on using race gas? how many lbs do you want to run daily on pump?

SpeedMonkey

w0rd.

i found a nice 02 Silver 5 speed IS300 with 88,000 miles for $11,720.00

i might get it because its cheap.

thanks jamie, i will take a look at that,.... mike just basically told the to buy the one thats for sale in the for sale forums... um... thats not the year i want though..

i gotta try to find a shell first though!!! you know any pointers for finding a lexus shell?

2turbo4u
09-25-2007, 10:53 AM
What you mean as a shell. Complete guttered out car or a base car to start with? There was a 98 or 99 in the forsale section a minute ago.

I would suggest looking around ebay, craigslist, or even the trader. Sometimes you'll luck up and find a high mileage car that someone wants to liquidate. Since you're going to transplant anyway, mileage is not really that big an issue to you. They hold their value rather well, so unfortunately for you it may mean that you won't find one for $5k or something.....unless you luck up or it has something majorly wrong.

I seem to remember one in the for sale forum a few weeks ago that was priced rather attractively. Can't remember exactly though.

yeah there was one on here by SAVANNAH13 that has a 2JZGTE swap with a single turbo already with some nice wheels an such.

hes asking $15,000

to me, thats a STEAL

i agree, with tien, rays, single, etc... BUT i would like to have a 2nd gen style for the GS, and im not to concerned with making 500hp... a stock motor, with a few bolt-ons is fine with me

yes, i have noticed that!!!! lol

in your opinion, if i could find a dicent priced car with good miles, could i put a turbo kit on it and still be ok as far as durability? i know its the same block, but would i be looking at headaches down the road with a kit?

I'll tell you what I've seen and what's happened with mine.

My observation is that the motor and drivetrain will hold, AS LONG AS you don't go ape shit with it. Mine's been running 8-9 psi, 400+ WHP, DD, for over 3 yrs. I drive it everyday, pump gas, SAFCII and that's it. Yeah, I beefed up the tranny and put in an LSD and a bunch of other suspension stuff, but the internals of my motor are all stock. Put bigger injectors and that's it, motorwise.

As for the GS3's....The tranny is different than mine, so I'm not certain what it can and can't hold. I'd suspect that it would be about the same or close to it. I know the motor will hold far more boost than mine though. Again, all within moderation. Remember that if you go too crazy with the boost, you will have to upgrade a ton of other things too....ie. $$$$.

It sounds like you don't want to go nuts. If that's correct, what I would do is get the car first. You can then put in a simple single turbo setup, that will probably put you right at 300 at the wheels without breaking too much of a sweat or the bank. If you want to go a lot more than that, then you will have to start thinking about $$$.

My car has been very reliable and I'm not worried about driving it anywhere. I've driven mine all over the place, race it, drive it hard......and then just drive it back home with all the comforts of any stock GS. That's what I wanted. I didn't set out to set land speed records. I wanted something reliable and quick enough to keep me happy. So far so good. Only problem is that boost is like crack. Once you get a taste for it, usually only more will do.:D
