i want to kick up the horse in my b16a, just on the motor.

its got a turbo, but the lag is pissing me off.

what do you think?

pistons?

cams?

valves?

what'll it be?

PS: if anybodys selling a greddy type rs bov, or NX intercooler sprayer kit, please let me know. :goodjob:

yOUR TURBO IS TOO BIG....I BET ITS A T3/T4 RIGHT? WITH A STG3 WHEEL..
So many ppl dont understand they need to get the right turbo for their car....you can have a t3/t4 that spools quick with a stg1/2 wheel or you could have a stg3 that spools at about 4.5-5k ((if its the ebay t04E that i'm thinkin)

I 1000% agree with him on this....and I know he knows what he is talking about. I have a big t3/t4 on my build lsvtec and it didn't spool until 4k. If you want drivability go with a t25,t28 or any variant like 14b or small 16g. this will cause you to change th manifold or get some kind of adapter but these turbos are good for the b16 and the lack of torque that they have. You will be looking at about 500 to 1k earlier spoolin depending on the turbo. Is you b16 stock? if so it would definitly help to have a smaller turbo for your lag prblem. this would be the simple fix......you can always up the displacement, or n20 the lower rpms to get to boost, or P and P the head with full cams and valvetrain but your talking major dolares for that. Look for a 14b....I think that would be your best bet. G/L and hope that this helps......................oh and of course don't forget tuning(most pple don't realize how much that makes a difference)

yall are getting off the question. i dont care about the turbo lag. the turbos fine. its tuned to spool at the certain rpm.

what i want is more HP on the MOTOR.

what (specifically) would that involve??

i know you guys know what you are talking about, and damnit i want some awnsers! :2up: :2up: :2up: :2up: (no offense; cause theres some little nut swinger out there that will take the "!" and :2up: seriously...)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

DUDE youre RETARDED

youre NOT ALL MOTOR , this belongs in the Forced Induction forum. TO increase power, you can do CAMS. or get a smaller turbo like a t3 or a GT28RS

that car makes 300whp already so i dont know why your bitching. do valvetrain an cams so you can rev it higher.

But to be making fun of other people when its obvious you have NO IDEA what you are talking about i LOL@you.

the turbo is part of your motor, so they are hand in hand

More power out of a B16a?

Replace with B18c/H22.

Get a B18c1 block or even better get a B18a or B18b block(lsvtec).

lol @ this thread and the clueless poster. you dont want to change the turbo because youve already got it tuned, but guess what.. any significant engine modification will require a re-tune anyway

lol @ turbos being tuned to spool at a certain rpm.

cause you know those 1500hp supras have their t88s making 55psi at 2k rpm because it was tuned that way.

He is actually correct to some extent, if hes got a larger turbo that hits full spool at 5k rpm, then the fuel maps wont really be tuned for full boost lower than that. So if he put on a 14b or some other small ass turbo then the lower rpms wont be correctly tuned

I agree with green91.

But in your case, your turbo is not really tune to full spool at about 4 to 5k rpm. This is just what happen what a bigger turbo is meeting a smaller engine. Remember, turbo runs off of exhaust gas, which the amount is limited by the motor's displacement.

Get back to the topic. Bigger engine. Drop in B18C and you should feel better, in terms of both increase of power and lag.

no matter what you do you'll need to retune. anything that changes the flow of air or fuel through the engine affects the tune. somethings more extreme than others. the changes it sounds like you want to do will affect the tune.

get a new intake manifold and throttle body. a victor x on a boosted setup can net gains upwards of 20hp when mated with a bigger tb

lol at this thread. i bet his super confused by now. 1st of all he doesn't know the diff. btw forced induction and all motor. And 2ndly, some r telling him to w/ smaller turbo, others stay with the same and others r saying forget the whole thing and drop a b18c1.lol, i say u get a smaller turbo.
