I need some help picking out cams for my LS/vtec build. I plan on running boost later on and want to make sure i have the right shafts for it. Ive been told so far that Skunk2 stage 1's will be my best choice. Any help is appreciated.

What about rockets? the motor will be fully built.

i would spend over a thousand for the sk2 with the valve train. i just wanna get pick some cams i know will give me some nice gains and be reliable with turbo.

As long as you dont get radical cams you will be fine, I wouldnt go any higher than stage 1 cams on any brand or even better get turbo profile cams.

well from what ive read the crower turbo grind cams arent that great, and skunk2 doesnt make any turbo specific cams. So i guess its either skunk2 stage 1 and sk2's full valve train or rockets and valve train.

either cam i would run rockets valvetrain, its FAR SUPERIOR to any valvetrain on the market

Oh and does the Rocket valvetrain have beefier valves or is it made to use stock valves? by beefier i mean titanium or oversized.

It does not come with valves. You can use stock valves as long as there are no problems with them. Or you can get the omnipower valves wich are made to be used with the stock valve guides, so that will save a good bit of money. If you are going all motor the omnipower flat face race valves are awesome. The exhaust valve faces are inconel which is some bad shit. They will also bump compression about .3

rocket valvetrain uses high seat pressure and spring rates so you dont get valve float in high rpms. Skunk2=junk, to soft, and you will drop a valve from the infamous 3-2 mishift.

only valvesprings i would run would be rockets, guaranteed to 12k rpms.

if im not mistaken, the stage 2 crower turbo cams have almost identical specs as the gsr cams. I got the race spring and retainer kit from crower, dnt know how they wrk though bc they are still in the garage bc i havent finished my head yet. lol!! I was gonna go with skunk 2 but ive been hearing bad things about their valvetrain components ^.
