Hmmm I think 4 quarts, start/check, add if needed, and I use Royal Purple 5w30. It's expensive (7 dollars a quart) but it is worth it.

I use exactly 4 QTS, and use either 10-30 or 10-40 (in the summer).

I think it's 4.3 or something, to be technical. I use 10W-30 In mine. I use Castrol GTX, and change it every 2000 Miles, due to my driving style, plus I'd rather change oil a little early anyway.. But like others said, Put 4 In, run the engine a little bit. And check it, add if needed..

I would go with 10-W30, and if you want to use conventional oil, I would use valvoline or castrol GTX. a lot of people say castrol is the best, but castrol does not own their own refinery, they just buy their oil from other companies and add their own additives, so its really no better than valvoline or some of the others. dont use quaker state, pennzoil, or anything like that.
If you want to step it up to synthetic, I would go with royal purple. I personally would not use mobil 1 synthetic. I used to use it all the time, but it tends to burn more than royal purple. I had to add a quart every 1500 miles or so, but with royal purple, it would only burn about a half quart every 3k miles, so it was significantly better.

back when i had my teg (b20 swapped) it only needed 4 qts. i started off using the mobile clean 5000 10w30, but then i switched to mobile 1 synthetic 5w20 and it ran so much smoother. you can pick up a gallon of mobile1 for about $20, and i still use mobile 1 in the gto. its an awesome lubricant!
