this should come as no shock, i mean look at Belichick. how the fuck could a bum like him actually lead a winning team?

fuck him and his staff. this is just as bad as pete rose, so Belichick should be banned.

if you believe the talking heads it really is more of a deal in the press than it is on the field. By the time you learn what each call is, a QB like Tom Brady has most likely figured it out.

Shady as hell, but I seriously doubt it had any real impact on the game.

I hadnt heard yet, was the guy with the camera actually affiliated with the Pats or was he a freelancer?

ok you guys are lame, they record and take photos of the playbook and plays so the next time they play them (they are in the same division so they play each other two times) they then know the plays.

also.... WHAT TEAM DOESNT DO THIS! seriously they all do it

Yes you do...watch a game and almost after every touchdown, they sit the QB down and show him pictures of the play that just happened and how the defense was positioned.

Like the other guy, it's more a "media controversy" more than anything. You really don't think QB's like Brady and Manning aren't good enough to pick a defense apart before the play starts?? You see Manning do it EVERY SUNDAY.

Besides, even if it was such a big deal as they're making it out to be, then what's your excuse for Randy Moss having 3 jets defenders on him and STILL CATCHING A BALL AND SCORING A TD??? Come on now, it doesn't matter if you know the exact defense they're running, to have 3 defenders on a receiver and STILL get the ball to him and him to score, what's your excuse for that? :jerkit:

I want to know what actions the league will take. Being that the conduct of players is being inficised, I wouldn't think coaches & staff would be excluded. After all, Goodell is all about "Protecting the shield".

long run no it doesnt make a huge huge difference. a good quarterback will still read everysituation on their receivers and make the right call as to where to throw the ball. really even if u know their exact Def setup what if one guy slips or your receiver gets the move on him so its not really that huge. except to maybe know like "ok thats a blitz call so their gonna blitz" etc. thats the only really relevant scenario IMO

Edit: ^Beat me and I like your post better.

I think you guys are kind of missing the point on this. Yes, every team studies eachothers defense. They watch numerous tapes before the game and figure out what the other teams tends to do in certain situations. They also review with the quarterback what all happened on the previous set of downs.

What they DO NOT do, is record the other coaches play calls from the sideline. Doing this completely elliminated any surprise the defense may have for them. The Pats were finding out the defensive plays the same time the players on the field were. Or at least that's my interpretation of it all. And I would call that shady as fuck. It's like having a mic in the other teams huddle.

By the Pats know the play calls they know who will blitz, stunt or spy that is cheating.

hefty fines. I am glad to see someone in pro sports actually sticking it to the players and coaches that dont do what they are supposed to be doing.

Also I heard today, that Brady knew most of the hand signals the jets used even before the game because they were the same as they used last season and during the preseason.

Like I said, just watch the Colts every weekend and you'll see Manning pick any defense apart. No Huddle Offense FTW............but his SKILL/ABILITY to do that might be considered cheating sometime down the road

you must not play madden enough, you can clearly see what play whoever your playing against is choosing, its on the same tv :lmfao:

But back to what your saying, I'm just a mediocre madden player, not a star QB that's been doing this all his life. I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing out there and what to look for. It becomes repitition

Note to self: Never play Madden against gtikid. :)

I'm not really trying to bust your balls here, I'm just saying that looking at someone elses play calling (in real life) is shady (on Madden it's still somewhat shady, but it's a game, so whatever). It should be up to a quarterback to read the defense by how they're set-up and how they're moving, not what the coach calls from the sideline.

Exactly :) However, this still doesn't justify watching someones play calling.

I agree. It's really not that big of a deal. I guess just since EVERY OTHER SPORT out there has had some kind of "cheating" scandal, they took advantage of this one and blew it up a lot more than what it really is.

I respect how Bill Belichik didn't even try to make an argument and just accepted the consequences, didn't even try to make his case or prove a point :goodjob: I really hope people don't try to place him in the same boat as Barry Bonds or that NBA ref.

BTW, NO ONE WANTS TO CHALLENGE ME TO MADDEN!! :lmfao: I don't even have time to look at the other players screen anyways :( I'm just damn good enough to not care what defense the other player is running :lmfao: I talk a lot of shit when it comes to Madden :D

it has nothing to do with the pats D

it was they were video taping the opponests defensive calls.

Aka blitz.. what kinda blitz.. what kinda coverage. Again tho as mentioned many times before you can know that and it helps but the players still gotta make the plays.
