so im go outside, decide to cut the grass, go outback and to the shed, open it up and im moving some stuff around, as im sitting on the lawn mower, i feel something brush against my leg, im like hmm that was like sticky feeling, look down and BAM big ass snake...i mean it wasnt HUGE but it wasnt a little garden snake either. It was about as big around as my forearm "im a skinny guy" and black, pretty long, but was wrapped up so i couldnt tell how long.

Anyway, to make things worse, my neighbors have company, and they are all outside, so they got to see my jump up and run around the house in about half a second.
Im terrified of snakes, i think its because when i was a kid, i had one jump in my face. Either way, i feel like such a pussy...lol i need a gun to shoot the fucker with.
Just thought id post up so a few people could get a laugh at me =]

eh... atleast your phobia is bigger than mine... i'm scared of little spiders. One time when I was like 8, I was at my dads house taking a bath, and a fucking spider jumped out of nowhere and landed on my chest. I jumped out of the tub and flew out the bathroom door into the living room buck naked... in front of my dad, my step mom, and step sister... ya that was bad.

yeah i'm skrrd of snakes too while i was working construction i had a 7 ft black snake decide to investgate what i was while i was sitting down on the ground.... i jumped up, and screamed and then ran as fast as i could to my car....i'm glad i didn't get bit but dizamn! i was way skrrd....

it was probably a black rat snake, and they are good!!!!! they eat..... RATS!!! anyways..... i know the feeling bout being scared shitless by seeing something that u werent expecting like that.... when i was a kid i found a 5 footer and it scared the shit outta me, but we ended up catching it and all that good stuff, found out its a good snake and let it back go in the backyard..... id say just let it be, he will move on to new ground soon enough and is almost completely harmless to you, unless u piss it off LOL

I'm suprised I dont run into snakes more on my job since I'm going in crawl spaces all of the time. Just a question for those who have snakes as pets (especially pythons)... why??? I've heard stories of pythons turning on their owners after they grow big enough.
