Ok so i read up a little on some engine swap info, and i saw in there that a zc motor will bolt right into a crx, and use my existing wireing harness and all that stuff, or has everyting i have just said sounded retarted? What would be the best rout on engine swaps for this car? lmk whats up... Im use to my other car i drive, a 99 civic ex and that motor in the crx would be pretty cool....i cant get my hands on another d16y8 for cheep and i have the ecu for it....so what would you guys think? thanks!

HAHAHA yeah can't go much bigger then that. That would be one HELL of a sleeper.

Depends on cash, B16 or a b18 are great, would make it fly, lots of aftermarket for them. An h22 is a good one but you got to beat in the firewall to make it fit. It will run hard though, but theres not nearly the same amount of aftermarket as the first two. But if you got deep pockets, I say go K20. That would be amazingly fast.

well im just trying to upgrade from 62hp to 130, i have two cars, a 99 ex and bought this as i project kinda-so im thinkign an extra 72hp in an 1800lbs car will do me a little better.....and this motor has like 180k on it...its time to go!

But whenit says its a direct drop in, and only motor is required...means i can use same motor mounts and tranny and shiftlinkage...and any parts from that motor? the dizzy and alternator and shit.... sorry for 10000 questions, just trying to get the job done and correct so i dont have some ragged shit.

D15B Vtec and a small turbo setup. (IF you don't have ac) IF you still got a/c, do D15B motor. Cheap, reliable, and much better than a ZC motor.

d16a6 (crx/civic si) would be direct swap and if your a HF then it would be plug and play. Just make sure you get a si tranny (hf tranny is too long) and si knuckles (the hf knunkles cant be used with any other tranny). You could do that swap for <$500

ok

d16 or zc will give you like 15 more hp. b16 with a gsr head would be the beastiest.

LS7 from a C6 Z06 is actually a direct bolt in knowadays for old crx's because of the new motor mounts chevy is using. may wanna go that route.

an obd0 b18 will drop in too....

yea, w/ the $300 hasport mounts....

anyway, i've swapped my DOHC ZC into 2 different EF's. the OBDO is an easy swap with just a few wire changes but 10 less hp, and the OBDO has alot of wire changes and +10 hp.

My stock DOHC ZC OBD1 dyno'd at 116hp and 103tq. Small numbers, but it's a light car. And i am in no way claming my car is fast, lol. I'm just saying the ZC is a good cheap swap.

But do your own homework homeboy. www.thezcr.com (http://www.thezcr.com) is THE website for you ZC needs.

also, you can get ZC's from jhott in agusta for pretty cheap. check them out on ebay.

as i told you via AIM...

hey you said get a d15b vtec motor...umm what all would i need to slap that thing in, as i was looking just to throw insomethign that is direct bolt it..but zc's are kinda old...92-95 would be a little better, and iv herd nothing but good things out of this motor, my friend has a jdm d15 in his delsol, but i think its slower then then usdm newer ones... lmk whats up...im ready to get this d15b6 out of this rex

To make it compatible in the CRX you gotta take off the driver side mount and bracket, and put it onto the newer motor. For OBD-0 (stock) use you need to use the injectors from your old motor as well as the distributor, everything else will bolt up. The distributor will need to be modified a little to make it work PERFECT with the motor. IT's not much. To make VTEC work you'll need a VAFC or a MSD switch.

Another route is just to convert to Obd-1. Which yyou'll need the Z6 dizzy from a 92-95 EX/Si, the distirbutor wire converter (obd1-obd0) and a obd0-obd1 jumper harness for the ECU plugs.

PFFT. thats a $13k engine.... without anything else you would need:

rear end
tranny
linkage
ass loads of time and money
a new frame basically.... thats like a $30k dollar swap....lol....

in a 1500 dollar car.....
