Sweet, thanks. You live close to me, too. I also got that thing where you can get one on one classes for an hour a week for a year. I'm going to use that to learn how to use photoshop and Final Cut better.

What's so funny? Please share. I still have a PC, several. I figured with all the sponsorship stuff and videos we make, a Mac would be good for that.

Yup. Yeah those classes are really good from what I here, but they are really pretty easy to use.

Good to hear. I'm not worried that the Mac is hard to use. I just don't know how to intricately use the programs I mentioned, so it's a huge plus they offer the classes. I'm not good at reading instructions. I'm a hands on kind of gal.

Just thought it was obvious.

Dell laptops are great deals and come with much better technology then Mac. Centrino Duo and Duo Core processors run circles around anything Crapple has.

My dad and I have had Dell laptops all along and love em. Never a single problem. Alot of my friends have had theirs for 2 years plus and never had one issue.

There is your reason.

Not angry at all. You on your monthlys or something? I am fine.

Just very anti-Apple. I've known too many people having problems with anything Apple related, but I had no idea calling it Crapple led to me being angry.

Oh noez!

No war. Nothing seriuos.

But getting a refurbished (el oh el) Mac is the equivelant of getting used condom with a hole in it.

pc is very different than mac. i personally hate pc with a passion and want to have sex with my mac, but thats beside the point. this will always be the never ending argument. mac is really taking off right now and a lot of pc based companies are trying to take macs little gadgets and features that make a mac, a mac. you will love your powerbook and it will run as fast as the day you got it if you keep if for 15 years.

FUCK PC bitches!! bwahaahaldhalha

^^ word

ive got a dell desktop. the thing is a piece of shit. it started fucking up almost immediately and after numerous "fixes" the thing is still a piece of shit. since ive had my macbook, the dell has been sitting there like a big ass paperweight.... one thing though, the dell was like half the price of my macbook, which was kinda pricey. worth it though

I've got a Macbook, I've had it for a few months now and I haven't regretted once that I got it. I've had no compatibility issues either, and if you really need Windows for some reason you can run BootCamp, and have both operating systems on your computer.

Whoever suggested a Dell.... gtfo. Dell's are the most overpriced computers out there.

yeah and if you really really need to run windows as mentioned above, besides bootcamp, theres a program out there called "parallels" which allows you to run windows and mac os SIDE BY SIDE on the same screen. I've got this software- i bought it because i was too afraid of letting go of windows. I havent even opened it, , don't need it, its still in the box it was shipped in so if any one wants it... hollaa

But if you do decide to run windows on your mac, be aware that this will leave your comp susceptible to all the viruses and nasty shit that come along with using windows... or so ive heard (like i said, im not a computer wiz). you don't want your macbook getting aids.

Yeah, I'd imagine you would still be susceptible to all those viruses, but I'm not gonna test it haha. You think Leopard is going to be worth buying?

This isn't really related.... but the new ipod touch looks badass, if only it had a bigger hard drive. Oh well, I never need more than 16GB's anyway.

I suggest you get more ram, max it out to the 4 gigs and it will fly (assuming its the core 2 duo, if its not just get the 2 gigs and your set)

PS
You can run Parallels and you can have windows open the same time OSX is running. If your at battleground when Im getting my car tuned I can show you.

Hells naw, im not buying leopard. ive got os x 10.4.blah blah, and its just fine for me. i have no reason to upgrade, im not that into computers any way.

new ipod looks bad ass, but i know i would fuck it up. i need like 5 layers of steel to keep my current ipod safe from me breaking it. that would not go over well with a touch screen function. my current ipod is 30 gig, and like u, its never been more than half full. so im straight on that for a while, atleast til i break it.

Ya know, it has the same scratch free surface that the iphone has. But yeah you could still break it from other sides I'm sure. Have you seen the youtube videos of people using keys and knives trying to scratch the surface of the iphone? It's pretty amazing really.

....Getting this back on topic.... the keyboard on my macbook feels so much better and more natural than any other keyboard I've used.

The screen latches can break pretty easily (if bent back too far) So don't push it too far back.. I did accidentally and now I have a very floppy screen.

you just paid for aesthetics and the cool factor imo :P

lol jk... and about the whole windows users getting viruses, as long as you arent a retard on windows and click everything you see online you should be fine virus wise.

picture editing wise, i could not tell a difference between a mac and its pc counterparts, however i cannot say anything about video editing as i dont do too much of that.

i love the mac screen too, i have a 19" Acer LCD hooked up as my second monitor, and it's amazing how much crisper, and more natural pictures look on my mac's screen when compared to them on the Acer LCD. I know it's not a huge deal, but everything is just better visually in my opinion.

Yeah Apple's monitors are really good (although I'm sure someone like samsung makes them).

I use PCs and Macs. They both have their pros. I've had my 17" macbook pro for about 6 months now and can't say anything bad about it. Visually, like was said above, everything looks great.

All I can say is, you'll like it. It's good to change things up every now and then. Keep it as clean as your cars. :goodjob:

Make sure you check for updates and stuff. Also, you may find yourself rebooting at times. I thought my macbook HD had died on me, at one time. Give it some time and reboot as it prompts you to do so.

Macs are fun. I haven't owned one for a LONG time, but I'm thinking about switching back since Windows Vista's EULA is really restrictive:

Mac for Video and Sound editing is the best because the programs available for Mac, are so much easier to use, run so much smoother, are alot less buggy, than their PC counterparts. But now that core duo is out, that line will begin to blur.

LOL its a funny thought, pretty much all (there are exclusions) PC games are made and animated on Mac platforms.
