I have a 1999 S-10 reg. cab, 2.2L how hard it is to put a 4.3L in it? Will it bolt right up? or what? thanks Seth...

wouldnt imagine it would be too hard as it came as a factory option. two wheel drive or 4 wheel drive?

two wheel drive.. and also anyone know if i have a 4.3L would the 2.2L tranny hook up to the engine? or if it did would it be worth the extra money and time to get the 4.3L tranny?

the 2.2 trans will not bolt up to the 4.3, if you use a carb on the 4.3 it is not that hard of a swap if not you will need the harness. a trans off a 350 will bolt up to the 4.3 and you will have to get a drive shaft lengthened of find a 4.3 truck to get one from. you will also need a set of motor mounts

if you are going to go through the trouble to put a 4.3 in you should go a head and put a 350 in it. but i would def. get rid of the 2.2

350 heads on a 305 really won't do anything I think 305-HO heads would probably be better then 350 but that really not worth doing unless u just have them sitting around or something, I'm pretty sure to swap that all u need are the motor mount plates that they sell for like $65 for the price their not even worth making them, and depending on weather your going fuel injection or carburation their still is going to be a lot of work cause yours is only the 2.2L, if your truck was a 4.3 everything bolts right up to the V8's, Their is so many things on the internet about swaping V8's in these trucks just do your research cause I gaurantee u someone has already tried it on an S10.......
