Just what the title says...what's yours? I decided to keep the EP as a daily, I think, but instead I'm going to buy an older import to build, and I'm just trying to get some ideas. No EFs or anything like that, nothing against them, but I've done it. I want something else...like maybe late 60's through mid 80's imports. Post 'Em up.

-Id say old school Z car (240, 260, 280 their all good choices).
-510 if you got some money to spend or know where one is thats a steal if its a low budget.
-Mk2 Celica Supra (1982-1985) Cheap to buy, and fairly rare on the road.
-Starion/conquest, but only reccomended if your at least pretty mechanically inclined.
-CVCC
-First Gen Rx7
Thats a decent list...
I think it may be. The only one I've ever seen in person though was an all out race car, so it didn't quite look like that.
Referring to the blue car that Hypno posted, im pretty sure thats a 70's model Toyota Celica GT. Also a pretty cool choice

Hmmm...I may have to look around for one of those celicas. 1st Gen RX-7 was my very first car, and finding pictures of it were what inspired my change of heart on cars. They're getting a little hard to find for a decent price these days though. I paid $650 for my old one.

here's my '71 celica with a 18rg. stock 145 HP but i was pushing more than that with little up grades. these are cheap to fix up. a decent body will run about 1000 and a used 18rg/tranny will run another $1000. fix the interior, lip kits, and paint and you'll sure love the car. =)

:D I love Rx7s. I've owned two first gens and a handful on second gens.
The 1st gens are hard to find, but still around.
Actually, i sold my last rx7 to a good friend and he still has it. I know for a while he had it up for sale for like 900 bucks, but i can't remember if he decided to keep it. Needed paint and interior, but ran like a top and had a straight body.
Oh and i hear ya on the $650 part. I paid 600 for my first one, and 500 for the other lol.

I used to have a '79 Honda Civic 1200. Same thing as a CVCC pretty much, but the wheelbase was a little shorter and it weighed 100lbs or so less. 1200's are more common than CVCC's. Most people just call them all CVCC's but the 1200's were actually "Civics", and the CVCC's were marketed as a different model.
The all aluminum engines in those cars are very light. You can lift the bare block easily with one hand. My dad and I took the motor out of mine by just lifting it out, no lift necessary.
The only downside to those old Civics is the wierd 4x120 bolt pattern that makes it impossibile to get wheels. But if you use later model hubs and the right spindles you can put on 4x100 wheels and any Honda brakes you want.

The CVCC engines have a 2nd intake valve (12 valves per head total) and a "pre-combustion chamber". Compared to the non CVCC heads (8V) that were available everywhere else in the world, the CVCC heads are just worthless. If I had my druthers, I'd have an EK-1 (1.8L early USDM Accord) block with the EL (Canada/Europe/Aus. 1600cc engine) head on it and the flywheel modified to fit the stock Civic trans.
Or the JDM 1200 RS engine that had dual sidedraught carbs, a hot cam, and a 4/2/1 exhaust manifold (the carbs were similar to the SU's found on British engines).
Theres a guy in Canada who swapped a ZC into one of these cars, and several guys who have swapped in D-series motors. The B-series motors won't fit without extensive mods to the frame rails because the trans. is too big. You'd almost have to make a tube frame for the front end.

Not sure how hard it would be to integrate the later model suspension on one  but it would be a blast to have my ITR engine in a '78 with the 500+lbs spring rate/coil-over dampener and a cage/rollbar, lol :ninja:
