Ok, here is the deal.

I have a hatch with a d16z6, was running great untill about a week ago.

Car starts up cold with no problems but after you drive it for a while and turn it off it refuses to start. It doesnt want to start because too much fuel is getting into the engine, as you turn the car over you can smell an overwhelming amount of gas. In order to start the car I have to get some one to clamp the fuel line while I turn the car over and once it starts and when it does a whole lot of black smokes pours from the tail pipe.
The only CEL I am getting is a "Water Temperture sensor" I changed the sensor but I am still getting the code.

Some of the things I have changed.
I got a new distributor, changed the fuel pressure regulator, changed the injectors, and changed the thermostat, and checked the spark plugs, and they are not foul they are almost new.

REPS to anyone who can help me figure this out.

thanks.

PS I do not know if this helps but car has no Cat, just a resonator bolted up to the headers and 2.5in piping all the way to the exhuast.

OK... You need to Check Fuel Pressure with a Gauge.. If you can Pinch the Line and it runs the you may have a Stuck Injector or Bad wiring somewhere causeing Voltage when its not needed.... Check the Fuel Pressure First, Then you may need a Scaner to check Injector Pulse.. Call me if you want, I have a couple more ideas but I don't want to post them.. ;)

stuck fuel injector x2. I had same problem, the car dident shut off but ran outrageously rich, fuel would actually pool in the runners of the IM. Come to find out, #3 injector was stuck wide open

^^^I know its not a stuck injector 100% because I changed them with Injectors I know to be good and clean.

your stock FPR could be bad ....change th stock fpr out to a known good one ... then check your injectors one last time ... if none of that fixes the problem . change your pump .. problem solved

Can you hear your pump priming?

Also, check the main relay.

Ima start neg reppin for bad advice, lol j\k but no, fuel pump would never cause a car to run rich and too dump too much fuel.

it either pumps or it brakes and does not pump.

listen to me carefully people.

The car is choking on its own gas, Too much gas, NOT too little gas.

It might be the FPR, but as I said in my post I changed it to a known good one, and I even checked fuel pressure, and got a good reading.

For any one wondering its was the fucking Water Temp Sensor doing this the whole time and my dumb ass kept changing the wrong one!!!!

I kept changing the sensor that controlled the temp arrow and not the one that affected fuel flow. *slaps self* Im dumb

Thanks for everyones suggestions
