November 24th 2007
For everyone that has ever wanted some of the Bugman I should have a car there this go around. :goodjob:
That's right folk's for all of you that have joined us in the past I have great news... Nothing is changing. http://www.streetcarforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif We will still have the gates open @ 10:00 am and run til 5pm. There will be 5-6 classes the same as last year probably with the same rules so start planning now and we will have early registration starting by this weekend. Bugman Racing will be supplying the trophies. If we have cash left over after the track cost is covered we will have cash prizes, again like always we are not looking to make a profit but just to have a great day at the track.
The fee's will be $35 per car (includes driver/admission) and $10 spectator fee with kid's under 12 for free as always. We will have a car cut off @ 70-75 cars so we have plenty of time to play.
Don't forget the kid's bike race which will consist of 3 races. 10 and under, 11-16 and 17 up. (The ages are subject to change per class.)
Nothing has changed since last year and we expect to have just as much fun as always. Bring your family, friends, cars, trucks and what ever you care to bring and remember this is a "FUN" day so bring your smiles with ya!
Should we add an Import class to this event? I need some feed back if your interested but this will be an awesome track day to settle a few scores. We can go off a flag, no times shown or just about what ever you want to do.
The track is not far from Augusta, Ga. so bring it! :bannana:

how many people do you expect
BUGMAN
08-30-2007, 03:13 PM
Every year it has gotten bigger but last year we had over 100 spectators and 79 cars in the event along with about 20 kid's in the bike race which is "FREE" for the kid's.
We will have a cut off and have had to use the cut off every year so far so if you plan on coming please use the Pre-Pay option to insure you a spot. I have no doubt that it will be "SOLD OUT" once again.

You will not find a better hooking track anywhere and last year from 10am - 1pm we made probably 15 passes with plenty of time to spare. That's why we have a limit on the car count.
Just as an example look at Commerce on a Friday night. They have 200+ cars and you get 5-6 passes in so just imagine (NO OFFENSE MEANT) 25-30 higher powered cars making 1-2 warm up/tune passes and 40-45 of us slower guy's making as many passes as we can. Talk to someone that has been in the last year or so and they will tell ya the same thing.
Hope to see you there!
They say it is called "THE HOUSE of HOOK" for a reason. ;)

Anyway, thought I'd let you know your employees were cool.....:goodjob:

So you mean you didn't immidiately think of me when they told you about the uber cool LEXUS guy???? :lmfao: :D
It was funny. I opened the garage because my dogs were going nuts. Your guys were standing there getting ready to do their thing. They commented on the "nice car" in the garage, so I showed it to them and talked to them for a minute. I then see the name on the back of their shirts.....:D
I was like, "hey, I know someone with that name on the net in a car forum...." The rest is as they say history....;)
BTW, I expect a large discount now that you know it's me....:goodjob:

They are a NHRA/IHRA sanctioned track. ;)
If you have a cage they will be lenient on the times but with no cage at all I think you would be pushing it just a bit.

well if they're as bad as commerce then i guess none of us will be able to run. they wouldnt even let clark do one run this year at tunerfest after he switched tires.
they jumped all over turbodave and he let out every run to a 11.7 too!! :goodjob: just sucks

Carolina is no where near as bad as Commerce even when it is a big event. This being a private track rental they are ok but not on verts. We had several hard top cars that didn't have cages that let out early and they never said anything.
However if you have a vert with no cage it is kinda like waving a red flag around.
Carolina staff is awesome and I would never compare them to Commerce. Commerce always seems to be so grumpy on any issue. My wife ran a 10.62 on her warm up pass after being through tech and the ticket guy was rude as hell yelling to her that she had to go back to tech in before she could make another pass or to park it. We have never liked the way Commerce is ran but there are a few guy's in tech that are really cool and we have known for several years but Carolina kicks azz.

No call outs yet? I know several of you were there last year and hoping some of you are coming this year.
Last year we had a really good range of cars. Some 10 second all the way to a few in the 16's so there is a spot for just about everyone and you won't find a better track.
If any of you guy's go up on a Friday night shoot me a PM and we will hook up. We stay at the same place every year and all have dinner/breakfast together before heading to the track.
Where is 1civic1 and the call outs?

so i guess my question would be for 9's and 10's you need a 4,6, or 8 point? just welded, certified or what? i know i'll have a bolt in 4 point in the poopra but i know it wont cut it at a NHRA track for 9's or 10's. but i might bring the rustang. :D

They do not have an official tech in on private rental days. If you have a cage they usually don't bother with ya. I have a 4pt in my vert and I have made many passes there in the high 10's and that was on nights with tech. I never took it up there for any of the private events.

Just for the record, my car doesn't have a cage and they never said a thing to me. I never ran it out the back door though, always let off at the 1/8th. I imagine if the car doesn't act stupid, they aren't going to bother you. If I get it back together in time, I'll have a cage in it this year, though. :goodjob:

Small change of plans:
Nothing serious but we are planning on having at least 2 (as of now) charity fundraiser organizations that are wanting to join us there collecting blankets, canned food, toys, cash donations, Etc. pretty much anything to help the less fortunate during the colder hungry months. If you have any of these items that can be passed on to help the less fortunate please bring what you can.
Don't be shy because we need input on this so if necessary feel free to shoot me a PM. I also want to go ahead and get the line up figured out if we draw straws, numbers or what ever let's get that system figured out now also.
All input is welcome. Last year went ok until the 10.5 class drawing and it got a little confusing is why we need to get this worked out before the event day.
Sponsors as of now are:
Dragging 4 the Hungry
Krushing4Kids http://www.myspace.com/krushing4kids
Krushing Cancer for Kids
Even if you don't have anything to race please come and join us for an awesome event. If you care to help with anything just let us know. Please pass this along to any forums or friends that you can to help with this event.
Also if our website should be up and running by the weekend followed by video footage, pictures and info on our fund raisers past, current and future.
Thank you for your time!
Any and all sponsors are welcome. Inquire within.
