damn knock the man down why don't ya

Replacing the rear quarter panel is a common job on rexs due to rust, so that's not going to that bad.

Plus, for the price he paid for the car + body work and paint, it's going to come to less than buying an "okay" shaped crx.

hmm, well you've got your work cut out. You'll need new body panels down the whole left side. sourcing a good door will be cheaper than having the door re-skinned, I speak from experience there. Fenders are simple, but be prepared to spend $150 to $200 for a good pair. You can still get them new from Honda too, $215 per side. There's a brand new, in-the-box left side quarter on ebay right now for a couple hundred. A new rear bumper support is ~$230 from Honda. They are very hard to find used in good shape. Take care of the body first before diving deep into mechanicals, rust goes in one direction: worse.

I'll help you take care of some small stuff with it when I come out that way tomorrow.

Let me know what I can do to help, as well. A guy I work with is VERY good with quarter panels. We just did a 2007 Santa Fe and it looks damn near flawless. He's no doing my friends 2006 Mazda 3, and earlier this year, a Supra was completely redone. Put it this way...the quarter than SHOULD have been hanging over the outer-lip of the tire...was about 1/3 of the way across the back seat. Ask osnap, or AgentEasy...they've seen the car, and it looks flawless...

In addition, we can help source parts for you. Those fenders (OEM) ARE hard to come by. We get them from about 70-80$ a side from salvage, or I think it's 175$ a side OEM, or finally there's the aftermarket ones that run about 40-50$ a side. As for the covers...I'd have to check on that. JFRO is right on your skins, though. Skinning a door is expensive cuz you've gotta to pay to have it done and looking GOOD. I can check salvage, if you'd like me too...

Nonetheless, no matter what you need, let me know. Whether or not we source your parts or work...it can't help to get another estimate. Be smart like JFRO and find the best deal...whether it's with us or someone else. Just save that damn EF!
