Na dont worry about it, all you need to worry about is bearing "crush" and ring gap your ready to roll.....

block should be honed and possibly bored depending upon if the walls are scarred up...i would NEVER install new pistons/rods without at least having the block honed

ive never done it myself, what do you use? and how would i make sure i did it right if i tryed it. would i need to measure the bores with one of those cylinder bore dial thingies?

you need to buy a 81mm Bottle Brush hone.. you can only get them from a few places... about 45 shipped.. Puts a better than factory cross hatch in the cyl... soak the cyl in Trans fluid and the hone.. and then just go up and down the cyl till you see the nice and smooth cross hatch pattern...
then you measure with a dial bore gauge and see if it's stil within spec... it most always is since your just polishing the bore ...Just never use a Stone hone say from craftsman, shitty hone and it will take metal off of your cyl wall

if you want to trust a 45 dollar part to hone your own cylinders be my guest..... id wanna see it to believe it.....

you dont have to balance it but please hone it for the sake of your rings. Hone job should be less than 45$.

i'd balance it and hone it if you want it done right. a few grams at 7500-9500rpm is alot of weight IMO

yes if he changed the size. He would also need to get the ECU re-flashed, or the gains would be minimal.
