Hey guys, my speedo and odometer cut out on the way home today. At the first stop light the speedo needle popped up and hasn't moved since. I have no codes either. I am running a power fc stand alone but plugged my stock ecu into it just to check, still nothing. Vtec still works as well. I have searched and checked everything that came up. All fuses in the bay and in the cabin, none were blown. I unplugged the VSS and replugged it back in, I also took out the cluster. Everything was plugged in and kosher in the back EXCEPT one orange clip that didn't have anything to plug into that I saw. I am at a loss. Faulty VSS? Thanks for any help!

if your VSS was bad, you would be seeing a code 15 on your ecu... and there would def. be a CEL.

especially since it's an OBD2 vehicle
*edit...
whoops, i gave you the code for obd0 - obd1 VSS...

you would be seeing a p0500 or p0501 code on the obd2 reader.

If it's not VSS, it may be your distributor acting up. My tach went poof one day on my del Sol (before the GSR swap), but the car was running fine.. no CEL or anything. Threw an extra distributor on that I had laying around and, upon startup, tach was back. Don't know why or how it works... my friend Kelly is the one who told me to put the dizzy on.

Thats whats confusing. But like I said I have a standaolne so I don't know if that is affecting it. I heard from a few people that they have Not had cels yet when they replaced the vss everything started working again. :dunno:
