I don't understand...the Viper's engine sounds weird. It didn't sound too bad in the video, but I've heard an RT/10 and it sounded really high and buzzy for such a large displacement and ten cylinders.

I've always wanted to drive one of these. I wonder what it's like to fool around with that much torque. The car seems like an absolute animal. Haha I remember a Top Gear thing on the Viper. Two things actually...

Hahahaha...damn near every GM interior of the 90's was DISGUSTING. I didn't really like the C4 Corvette's interior much either. I loved that body style though.

Cadillac had them alright...they looked pretty nice.

The new Z06 is far from Porsche or Ferrari interior but it is nice. Heated leather seats that are incredibly comfortable, perfect clutch/shifter position, memory seats, navigation, a nice gauge cluster that's easy to view.

People don't buy Z06s for plush interiors. They buy them to dominate exotics at a fraction of the cost and for the performance of a supercar.

If I wanted a pretty and comfortable interior, I'd go buy a Mercedes or a Lexus.

It's a nice bonus to have though. The Viper seems like it's out to kill you. I remember when C&D did their first test on the new SRT-10. They fried eggs on the door sills and cooked a pizza over the vents on the hood. You can hear the whining of the transmission inside, and you've got to do some crazy acrobatics to get out after a drive, lest you melt a calf over the door sill.

The thing about people who buy Lexus or Mercedes...they aren't looking for a thrilling driving experience. They're into calm, comfortable cruising. If you want a car with good dynamics and a well-tailored interior...seems like you must spend close to six figures.

I don't really like the interiors on Ferraris. They are certainly focused, but I wouldn't call them luxurious or anything.

Hah, I think my favorite part of the C4 was the flip lights...they did a backflip.

I think the XLR could use some improvement now. I love how they look, but I don't think they're worth their price. I think to justify a $100,000 price tag (in the case of the XLR-V), they should be on par with Aston Martins. Their interiors are pretty nice, but I think they need to be stellar. I also wish they'd offer a manual transmission, but maybe that's just me. I don't know how manny people in the market for these cars still want to shift their own gears. I think they need to update the platform a little, and they need to up the power a little. It's a shame that the performance division of Cadillac can only just keep up with the "normal" models of it's competitors...for example, the V is competing with the 650 and SL550, rather than the SL55 AMG or M6 like it should.

Ya true. Viper have the uttmost akward cabin ever. Especially ppl who are over 6ft...they really have trouble time adjust. And the exhaust on the side really gets it hot inside.

Yea, I think its been going on for a while about this new vette. Last time I read, the reason its only the 6.2L is because its planned to be supercharged. I'm not sure if that was mentioned already in the links, if it was, my bad. Also, I think its around $100k? Thats almost Ford GT territory right?

Anyways, I like the new C6 Z06 too, but if my plan was to get one of these cars and keep it in mostly stock form, I'd probably take the viper since its not as common. I mean that as theres lots of C6s on the road in general, not just C6 Z06s

Plus with this new vette coming out, you won't have the top of the line model if you get the Z06, now who wants that! J/K =)

I just read up on it. Lotus designed the engine...called it the LT-5. The new engine required precise hand-assembly and the Corvette factories wouldn't have been able to handle this, so Mercury Marine was called upon to assemble it.

Basically...Lotus designed, MM built.

I'm waiting on them to release a modern-day Grand Sport. Remember those?

Yeah, but dropping the blower and adding twins..... There probably isnt anything on the east coast hwy wise that would touch it.

I like the viper other than the front bumper, head unit, vents, and climate control. It seems to drop more panties than a C6, just b/c its less common. Honestly, I dont think Dodge will beat chevy until they can get the weight down on the viper, and I just dont see that happening. Less weight requires less power which in term is less stress to retain the same speed and acceleration. I mean a wider gear in the tranny is a power killer in itself. They just keep throwing more power at it and its going to get expensive to keep up.

P.S. the rasp of the v10 DOES NOT sound like shit, sounds like a race car.

How expensive are the twins for the Ford GT?

$7,500 for an APS kit on the C6Z and it'll make 700rwhp. +250rwhp over stock. Not to mention the bank you save off the initial purchase price. Another couple grand for forged internals (rods/pistons/valvetrain) and you're looking at 1000hp.

I've seen some pretty nasty TT Ford GTs and Vipers too, though.

Who knows. Hard to say what car is better without actually having them built and seeing them run.

a friend of mine just bought the 2008 Z06 and his uncle has a 2006 SRT/10 and for those 2 years the Z06 ate the viper up from a roll...
