Will a d16 head off of a 98 civic ex fit a d15 block off of 95 civic dx ? and what would it take ? can i use the tranny off the d16 and wire harness and what about timeing ? i think mad mike told me it was called a mini me swap ? any other suggestions will be helpfull :goodjob: (that is'nt shit talking)

yeap its a mini-me swap. its when you pair a non-vtak block with a d-series vtak head. and when u do this, you get mad vtak, but also some HP and slightly higher compression.

nothing too crazy, pretty straightforward bolt on HP swap. not worth the trouble for the HP gains.

hp swap ??????? ha ... jus get a A6 1.6L block .. mate it with a Z6 head .. and boom full 1.6 liter swap FTW .. mini me swap FTL!

lol yeah, if you get a a6 you'll have higher displacement but when you do the mini me swap you do get a noticeable change in power. don't forget to take off your oil control jet on your block when you do it. :goodjob: oh and yeah, it would be a good idea to use that EX tranny because its shorter and it'll make you feel wayyyyy faster than a DX tranny...

im getting a damn good deal on a d16, 150bucks and that comes with trany, motor, ECU, wire harness

I say you fix the Y8 up and just swap the whole thing in rether than the head and the tranny. :goodjob:

oh I see, well pick you up a cheap d16a6 to go with it or something, i head about this thing where you can take the d17 internals and put it inside a d16a6 and that shit is high compression and a bigger bore and displacement. Heard it's bad ass...

Hate to jump in, but i would use a z6 block with ZC pistons and a y8 head with intake mani. And a y8 tranny. You will be unstopable in the d series all motor world.:D

hhhmmm d17 eh ? the 80 hp to the wheels motor ??? lol ... pm7 ( Jdm zc )pistons d15b7 stock rods z6 head with a y8 manifold .... Call it a day . or jus do wut everybody says with the d17 internals ... then we'll line the D's Up ...and see wut happens ... but tis your choice .. Vtec madd slow YO!

Yeah man, its a beast. Im thinking about doing another sohc for the hatch, my new one. A lil something for DD and on a lil juice. Sorry for the thread jack bro.
