Ok so i installed the motor and i made sure to plug up everything and i also put in all the fluids. When i turn the ignition I hear one click and it comes from the starter and nothing more. I have a new battery, so its not dead. I have tightened the battery plus. Someone let me know what i can do or if there is anything wrong. Thanks

Could it be a bad starter?

A ground isn't hooked up

EDIT: Clean your battery terminal and tighten the posts

whatever you do don't get a cheap replacement. A lot of reman starters aren't worth a shit. I had a starter go out on my 2000 prelude I used to have and replaced it with a cheapo from advanced and had to put another one in within 3 months. It was under warranty but not worth the hassle.

^^^ thanks for the advice. :goodjob:
How much are new starters?

OEM starter is gonna be a hefty penny. Changing a starter is a very easy procedure and reman starters can be good. All A starter is an electric motor that turns the flywheel and starts the combustion reaction.

I say go with a reman starter, I never had a Starter from Autozone go out on me, and with a 12month warranty its not that much of a risk.

Oh and plus you have a manual car, push start it let the starter spin a little to make sure its not locked.

so yeah push start it, drive around a little, then uh try to start it.

Wait. . . You can push start it without the starter working?

as long as the battery has enough power to prime the fuel system etc, you can roll start it. Have someone push you and hold the clutch in and put it in gear, when you get going fast enough (which doesntneed to be to fast) let out on the clutch and it should start.

Have you tried cranking it and getting someone to knock the starter?

Knock the starter? What does that mean? Literally knock on it?

yeah like get a rod and while your starting it...get someone to whack the shit out of it. Lol. this happened to me but it was because of bad ground. umm try knocking it, that don't work, then push start, then if that don't work, you need a new starter. and if its D-series, i got one. It worked when i took it out.

Take a ball-peen hammer or pry bar or 1/2"+ socket extension or whatever you can find that's long enough to tap on the starter at the same time someone is cranking it. It could just be bound up inside and banging on it may free it up.

-or-

If it's a manual put it in neutral, roll it forward (down a hill is easier), jump in, push in the clutch and put it in gear, then release clutch...if the engine is indeed getting fuel, air, and spark then it will start right up.

You can also roll start it in reverse too

You can also roll start it in reverse tooReverse is about the same ratio as first so it won't be much differant to start.

yeah but it'd be easier if his car was in his driveway and he just pushed it back and tried popping it. :D
