Right now I'm in the market of buying a new or somewhat new sedan. I have a 15k spending limit. I would like a car I could do basic bolt ons to like exhaust, intake, etc... I do not want coupes anymore so thats why I'm looking for a sedan. Looking for a sedan with a somewhat large backseats too. I've been looking at IS300's because there in my price range and all. Anyone know of a good new or newish sedan thats under 15k?

2002 Nissan Maxima SE 6 speed. I'm pretty certain you can get those around that price. Or a V6 5 speed Nissan Altima, V6 5 speed Mazda6s. The Mazda would be the cheapest of all of them, though. All are quite roomy and fun to drive, but the mazda will entertain you the most. You can even find it in a hatchback too if you like that style

A slightly used WRX of course :)

In all actuality though the back seats aren't too spacious (although neither are the IS300's)

Edit: Scratch that, get the 5 series, yum.

Well with the front seats all the way back, the back seats are pretty tight (I'm 6'4" and it's damn near impossible). With the front seats scooted up some it's do-able (talking about the wrx and IS300).

^^That's an oxymoron. WRX's and IS300's aren't roomy. Only kids and people under 5 feet sit back there in comfort. Evo's have some space. But I think from him describing a typical car, I think he's trying to move away from the "fast and furious" image that the WRX and the EVO posesses

True I am trying to get out of the F&F scene. Looking for a sporty yet luxurious car. Thats why I said the IS300 ( thats what I would describe it as ) the 5 series is awesome and all but if something goes wrong I don't want to spend a arm and a leg to repair it. I believe fixing BMW's aren't cheap. My fiance says she doesn't want a WRX she said theres no room in the car what so ever. (i have never been in one so I can't say) She wants me to get a new IS250 but thats out of my spending range. I'm moving to cali too so thats why I would like a little more room to put my shit in it when I'm driving over there.

The IS250 is a roomy car. The IS350 is a faster car. That's my pick if I had the money to spend. 15k, I'd pick either a Maxima, Altima or Mazda6s

Not that I'm trying to sway your decision, I just want to clarify that there is plenty of room in the front seats of the car. Like I said in my previous post I'm 6'4" and I still have 4-6 inches of head clearance (and I sit up straight) and just as much, if not more legroom than other similar cars. It's just the backseat isn't that large (when the front seats are all the way back).

But yeah, my vote for you is an IS.

are you also concerned about mileage and maintenance costs? Just wondering

Yes I am worrying about that too. Since I'm driving across country from GA to CA I would like to have a car that if it does breakdown it would be fairly cheap to repiar. Mileage I'm somewhat worried about but not fully.

2001 S4- The only one I'd add bolt ons to
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=225438834&dealer_id=46483740&car_year=2001&model=S4&num_records=25&make2=&start_year=1998&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=8&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=25&marketZipError=false&search_lang=&make=AUDI&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=10000&body_style=SEDAN&drive=&default_sort=make_modelASC&max_mileage=&style_flag=2&sort_type=make_modelASC&address=30087&advanced=y&end_year=2008&doors=Four+Door&transmission=&max_price=15000&cardist=11

Then theres also your 2003-2005 Honda Accords and Nissan Altimas. I don't think you'd want to add any bolt ons to this, but I do know that they will be pretty reliable and have lots of interior room

Another option would be the newer Subaru Legacy. I don't know much about them, but their not as common as the accord and altima, should have more interior room than a wrx, and they look nice

Maybe look at a Volvo S70t5 98 up and they are turbocharged so bolt on friendly?

I'd say check into the Volvos, they are pretty decent, have the possibility for aftermarket bolt-ons, good gas mileage, very dependable.

Check out the Vdubs as well. Here's a 2003 Passat GLS:

Also check into the Audi A4. This is a nice, roomy sedan with some decent aftermarket:

You can get a brand new Yaris S Sedan with lots of options for that or less. Side curtain airbags, plenty of room, 40MPG, cheap to maintain, decent aftermarket.

maxima or altima 3.5 se.

especially if you want to stay away from european cars when considering repair costs.

you can find them for about 12k or 13k if you find a good price.

mpg is about 30 on the highway depending on how fast you're going (maxima 6 speed)

not too sure about the altima, but they're good too.
