ok, well im thinking about a gsr b18c1 block and a b16a2 head, Is this gonna be a good choice? Im gonna completely build it using skunk2 Cams, ferrea valves, skunk2 springs and retainers, cp pistons 9.8 comp., eagles rods, and oem parts and gaskets. Mainstream performance is gonna do the work for me. Im gonna get a turbonetics turbo kit in the near future and run like 8lbs of boost. Should i be safe runing like 10lbs on forged internals? I dont wanna push it too much. I just wanna reach a goal of around 250-275whp.

honestly you can meet your goals on stock internals, but if you want forged internals for the added protection go for it. just make sure mainstream tunes it for you too. oh and that engine is called the poor mans type r. it will lower you compression and make it around 9.2:1 i believe

yea, you should meet your goal on 7 psi and stock motor....i made 260whp on a stock gsr with 7 psi from a t3/t04e 57 trim

Again, you can make 250-270whp on a B18C without even taking off the valve cover.

I'm rockin the B16 head on a B18c1 Block, works beautifully. I'd say its a good way to go.

there is no advantage of a b16 head over a gsr head. a gsr swap works just as well, better if you are not going to upgrade internals. the gsr head actually flows slightly more cfm's than the b16. but its such a small amount it doesnt really matter. plus the b16 head will lower your compression.

The only reason i was gonna get the gsr block is because i want some more torque and power. I should probably just get the whole gsr swap instead. The b16 is kind of a torqueless wonder.lol. Maybe i should look into an ls/vtec, but i really dont know how dependable they can be, i know it must be built though. Because the Ls internals arent used to high revs.

If you aren't safe on 10lbs with forged internals...then I don't know what much else you can do then...

Like said the B16 head doesn't really flow that much different than the GSR head.
Other than that it'll let you run the B16 or TypeR intake mani.
Side note I made 300hp on a stock B16 with GSR cams (SC34 @ 9.5psi) so you'll probably blow past your numbers

that set up is a nice 375who set up. id piece the kit together since turbonetics parts kinda suck. like wastegate n stuff. log mani, tial wg, decent sized (non ebay) turbo, nice sized fmic and u can run 375 daily. i seen over 400 with a piston/rod/valvetrain set up. Unsleeved i would run 10:1 pistons but 9.8 is close enough

With that setup and a bigger turbo you could make alot more power. We ahve tested stock sleeves and made alot of power on them. Since your taking the time and money to build the block i would sleeve it also.
Boost is like sex you always want more then u can get!!!!
