User FTjandra stopped by to get is car tuned. I just want to say how badass a protege this is lol. He pulled up and i couldnt believe what wsa under the hood.

Props to him on the build of the car, and dont run across him on the street :ninja:

Even with nmbers withheld, this car just lost alot of its sleeper status by getting posting online. I hope he consented to this.

Thats his old motor... New one will be much more powerful.


I would love to know what the Protege is putting down. What size turbo is he running? I see he is running the stock turbo manifold.... Is it a GTR or a GTX motor?

I love the coil packs.

its a gtr, and he has put alot of work into it.. but he still hasnt got all the power out of it no where near..

1.8l 16v bpt out of a 323 gtr, mazda awd rally car.

Great engines they can do right around 300whp (will require some turbo upgrades), and if you build them up they have seen up to 500whp i believe. But sadly the trans wont hold that much power lol

They'll swap in mazda/323s, proteges, mx3s, ford/festivas, escorts, tracers almost a direct swap, just need to do the turbo pipes and work on the wiring a bit

My friend has a Festiva with a bp in it. Pretty badass. Low 14 sec 1/4mile with a stock bp motor. I am building my festiva with a 1.6 miata engine that way I dont have to cut the frame rails.

yea his build thread is on clubprotege.com he put down nok numbers, but it has a issue thats keeping it from makin the right power.. :(
