Car: 1994 Honda prelude
Engine: JDM F22B DOHC engine no mods
Issue: My car does not run right after I drive it when it is hot outside. Like when i leave school my car is throwing a CEL and it is running fine. The CEL is for a knock sensor. Lets say I drive home and then let it sit for like 15 minutes and then go to start it. NOW the CEL is no longer there. The video explains what it does. But when the revs are bouncing it is because something is preventing them from going past or staying at 2k rpms. MY FOOT STAYS in the same position until i force the RPMs passed 2k.

OK so now the car cant really go over 2k rpms. To get it running normal again i drive the car around the neighborhood shifting at like 1500 until the CEL COMES BACK ON. As soon as the CEL comes back the car is back to "normal"

if ur knock sensor is bad then the car puts itself into limp mode which prevents the car from reving past a certian RMP. its just the cars way of tryin to prevent anything destructive happening to the engine. so just get a new sensor and it should be fine

A bad knock sensor wont throw a honda into limp mode.

A bad knock sensor wont throw a honda into limp mode.
it is a major sensor.......if the ECU doesnt know if the engine is knocking or not then it dosnt really know what to do with advancing and retarding the timing

My car doesnt even have a knock sensor. So that was teh problem. I needed a ECU that was programmed to run without one.
